Definitely a option, thanks for advice brody. My only concern would be feeding - even with feeding bowl there is chance for insect escape. Maybe if i stick with legless locust as staple... :)
Beman - i had a plan to move him to 36x18x36 exoterra, but after calculations (not with money but with space) i can't afford (i mean i dont have enough space for that).
Right now i have 3 terrariums and i need to make terrarium wall. I need heat + light for every terra (light is not problem...
Hey guys, i have my Veiled cham from june 2017 i think so he is already adult now. He was first in 24x16x36 glass, then moved to 18x18x36 reptibreeze. Before his first year i moved him to reptibreeze 24x24x48. He is little smaller than average veiled (or so his vet said to me)
This year, we...
Sorry for late reply. Yea, i know about that silicone + moss thing and i realy wish i have time or place for this. But with my little daughter, i just can't let something sit for even 12hr :). But i realy wanna make something like that (looks nice in your setup cordawayconstruction), maybe in...
Yes, all those plants are real. On that last photo is scheflera on left, dracena on bottom, pothos on top right and some kind of bromelia in middle. On other photo is ficus tree with pothos.
You can't go wrong with pothos, it's unkillable plant :). After pothos i have best results with...
Here are some pics from my builds in chronological order :) My chameleon start in glass, then move to reptibreeze L and now he is in hopefully permanent home in reptibreeze XL build no.2 :) (first one was with ficus, but that stupid tree dropped 70% of leaves)
after...
Hey, little update with my background. I have tried easy way, without painting and i bought photo wallpapper with leaves :). But my chameleon looked like he expected to something jump on him from there, many times i caught him staring on wall. Maybe something without pattern would be better. Now...
Little update here: i have reptibreeze XL right here next to me, i bought 2x24 T5 HO bulbs, 1 exoterra medium reflector and bif ficus tree.
About basking bulbs - i tried many bulbs on spot, where you can see 34 degrees in picture (about 20cm from bulb). Here's my results...and btw room...
Hey, thanks for answers, they say it's 50w bulb, but is equivalent to 100w ceramic heater - that could be usefull but i think i accept your advice and get normal bulb :) (although i have better results with halogen bulbs so far)
Hey, anyone have some experience with this bulb for chameleons? Can't find anything other than "heating re-invented" and "future is here" etc. But no other info, safe distance with temp. ;)
If it's cricket keeper from exo terra, tubes can be dismantled easly.
If it's not, that baby bottle cleaner, as recommended by Kaseabra is best solution i think (y)
The pros for me
1. You know how much cham eating. Once i have found crickets after 3 weeks in enclosure and i thought he had already eaten them, they can hide pretty well :).
2. Even though they can escape from cup, there will not be many. If you break their legs, it will be even less ;). I...
Holy ... very beautiful enclosure, it definitely doesn't look cheap :). For female, i'll go for exoterra for sure. I'll need to save up some money though first :ROFLMAO:(y)
Hey, my veiled would need new home soon and i think abaut it again and again. So i decide to create new topic and maybe get new or better ideas/advices.
This is what i have found so far
ENCLOSURE: After glass vs screen phase, i decided to go with screen. It was exoterra 60x45x90 (24x18x36) vs...
Hey, very helpful topic. But when i read it, i think i'm back at the beginning with my new (and hopefully permanent) enclosure. I tried custom made glass enclosure, only to buy 18*18*36 reptibreeze, because i read everywhere that "this is the way to keep veiled".
I can't made custom build...
@dshuld - thanks for manual, i'll keep that in mind (y). I have that enclosure right here on my pc desk, but i think that frame is too thin for screw from upside down. Maybe i'll use silicon or some kind of glue, idk but anyway, he must wait a while longer, i'll need to pay for car servis right...
Thanks for advice, i have read somewhere, that white color is good, because it helps brightening the enclosure. But like i said, i would like to paint it, or use that idea with leaves & spray ;).
I cant afford new enclosure right now and all things connected with it, maybe after christmas, but...
