I wonder how long it takes to heat the water being that the mister will be turning off and on in intervals as opposed to being on constantly like an aquarium filter would? I hope that made sense, lol.
I built my cages also and they average around 40-50 bucks for materials and waterproofing the wood. Like stated before, I like the fact that you can make them to your needs and dimensions. And I can always just add on to my cages if i want to make them bigger.
My sambava goes to sleep at 6 even though the lights go out a 7. He's been doing this since i first got him. I was worried at first, but he is active, eating, and drinking so i figure he's ok
you should also get a digital thermometer to get a more accurate reading at the basking spot. the analog ones can be off by enough to cause harm to your cham. What are you using for heat in the basking area?

i would start the misting an hour or so after the lights go on to give him a chance to warm up and stop them an hour before lights off so the the enclosure dries before bed time.

I've done it. Usually when someone is in a panic and no one has responded I will say, "Answer the How to Ask for Help questions so the more experienced keepers can help you out". I didn't think I was annoying anyone by doing that, but maybe some of the people I've annoyed will chime in.:D
I just got a Sterelite container and drilled holes in the lid and put the cage on top. you can then add a plug or tube that you can use to empty the container into a bucket so you dont have to be moving the cage. They also come in some cool colors these days, lol
