I would like to know how you guys are feeding the pheonix worms to the chams. I'm having problems. She ignores them. Maybe because they are small, but she would eat mealies and wax. Any advice, I got 100 and they are about to go to waste.
Thanks, Roberto
I really hope for the best for they little guys and you know what your are doing so we all know they are in excellet hands. Its sad to here the little one went to chameleon heaven, but I really think the others will make it. Good luck.
Roberto
I just got the wood for my cham cagse, and now don't know what screening to buy. Lol. So can I get some input on what is the best screening. Something that won't hurt my cham but could stand the heat.
Thanks,
Robert
That will be fine. Just remember to add some live plants. It keeps up the humidity and is more natural. Plants aren't to much of a problem. A photos plant doesn't even need to me watered the often. Probably once a week and not even that much. Remember stick to natural, its better.
That would be better. They grow up to about 7 inches that is something to consider. Remember when getting a cham you have to give them space to adventure, walk around, and excersice. They need more height that width. If it were me I would go with 2'x2'x3'. That's big enough for it do whatever...
I believe a chameleon needs space to walk around and adventure. To me that is to small a cage, not enough leg room lol. Waterfalls are going to get dirty, no matter what you put in the waterfall. Insects will drown in it and cause bacteria to grow. Try using live plants, they will last even...

Yes, I agree with Brad Ramsey. That cage is way too small unless your planning on getting a baby. Eventually you are going to have to get a bigger cage and I would also recommend a drip system.
I have read posts, posted by experienced chameleon keepers saying that waterfalls are not that great because of bacteria growing in the water, or can cause drowning.
Also what are the kind of plants you are planning on using, do you have a UVB source?
I have been reading around from since I had my cham and notice that cham have different taste. My cham loves mealies lol and sometimes wax worms. I like to vary her diet from silkies and crickets as staples, and then throw in a some mealies, waxs, horn worms for a snack. She does get bored so I...
I have heard of chameleons being fed pinky mice, but never attempted it myself. Was going to try it out but read something that said they have to high a fat content. I heard they were good for females who just layed eggs and needed to regain there wieght.
I had an experience with a petland in the month of june or july in 06. I walked inside to my my crickets, and I being the curiuos person I am, like always go to the reptile section of the store. When I look into the chameleon tank, I was in a state of shock. I saw a male veiled chameleon about 6...
Well I have pheonix worms and they say they are high in calcium, but my cham ignores them really maybe not now, but hopefully in the future she will get more interested. I have some that are going to go to waste, wish I knew someone in nyc to give them to.
This is what I feed my chameleon:
Silk worms
Crickets
Butterworms
Just started pheonix worms (she likes them but they don't draw her attention as much)
Now waiting for my horn worms to reach appropriate size so I can try them.
I never knew you can feed dragonflies to chameleons. Very...
