Thanks Jann and Ktown. Squiggy is growing really fast. I think he is going to be a very colorful veiled. The girls come to the front of the cage whenever they see the spray bottle coming!!
That will be like starting a brand new life. I wish you all the best, just remember, there will always jerks wherever you go. Just make alot of friends, be kind to everybody and treat them the way you want to be treated. There are more good people than bad people. Just be yourself and...
Okay I will post some pics! As for the idiot, be the bigger man! Punks like that will never amount to anything and you will look back years from now and just smile when you see them at the reunions!
Your welcome! They are really pretty girls, they come out with different colors all the time. Laverne has always been very nice and mellow and now Shirley is finally coming around and being a whole lot nicer. They love it outside in this FL sun. I built them both nice big outdoor cages and they...
Cute lil girl, but I didnt notice a UVB light and what temp is your basking spot!! Just kidding, couldnt help myself as I see this so much on this forum!! Really though, she is a cutie!!
The girls from Stefan are right about 9 months old. They are showing lots of turquoise and are really pretty female veileds. Stefan did a good job with them. They are very healthy chams. And my new male who came from FLCHAMS is really breaking out with alot of turquoise too. Dont know if I want...
Here are some pics of your girls!! Showing some gravid coloration! Have not been with a male so they would be infertile. Laying bins are in with both girls. Also some pics of my new male, Squiggy!!
It looks like you are doing a fine job to me! Nice looking veiled!! Dont let posts bother you. I know some of my posts dont get any and or many responses. Its that way for most of us!! Depends mostly on the topic, for most post responses, so dont take it personally!!
No, everyone doesn't have to keep chams the same way, but why take the chance of impaction. Maybe it might not happen, say a 1 in 10 chance, but are you willing to take that chance! Not me! I think the best advice is not to have a substrate, and I think most would agree.
Well first thing I would do is get rid of that substrate you have. Then put in a bucket of washed playsand for your cham to dig in to lay her eggs. I would get a bucket at least about 8 to 10 inches deep and big enough around that she can some wlaking around room. Has she been with a male?
I have been using the polyurethanes for over 10 years with absolutely no health effects to my chams. I caulk all the joints then spray a urethane base coat (colored) and then topcoat with polyurethane. My cages still look like brand new. I do leave them outside for a few days to air out.
I did a batch of crickets, had thousands, and from my experience I will buy them from now on. They are definately a PITA!! So much easier just to buy them. And I agree dubias would be easier.
You cant make them be receptive. When they are ready, they will let you know by coloration, usually. Hold the female near the males cage and she will let you know when she is ready. If she gapes, hisses and rocks back and forth she isnt ready. Wait a few days and try again. But my question is...
Thanks JannB, I will do that. I have brought chams to Dr. Alfonso before at his clinic in Orlando. Just thought I would kill 2 birds with one stone, getting the fecals done and visiting the show. Hope to see you there!
Not to sound stupid, but how fresh does it have to be. What about the day before the show, and should it be refidgerated or not. I guess my question is what would be the latest it could be to get an accurate reading. I live across the State.
