Blatta lateralis - aka Turkish Roaches. Went to my first reptile show this weekend, and picked up a starter breeding colony for 12 bucks - I THINK it was a good deal, got about 30 or so in there, with 5 egg sacks already waiting to hatch. Came with a bunch of food as well...
If you have raised him from a baby up to 9 months without a UV bulb, it has not been sudden at all, he has been in trouble for about 5-6 months now. I am putting my $$ on early stages of MBD as well.
Hopefully you have cought it in time. Have you started to research local vets?
I suppose you could try? I dont see any reason why not, just make sure you leave a large enough gap from the top of the screening to the top you cut off.
Sorry if i was not more clear, yes the screen is for the crickets to climb up on, and the plastic is too slick for them to walk on, so you leave a gap inbetween the screen and the edge of the plastic so if they try to climb they just fall down.
DOH! thats a bummer man, sorry to hear that. I guess you can look at the positive and found out ahead of time, instead of 0 power all of a sudden.

*TEMPATURE-IS GOOD
*HUMIDITY-IS GOOD

You can use whatever wood you want. You have to TREAT it is the trick!
I recommend at least 3 coats of poly, let each coat dry a day before applying the next. Once the final coat has been applied, make sure it cures for about a week before putting your cham in its new home.
You will love it, so far the misting system is the best investment i have made so far bar none for this hobby.
Just to clarify - I am not trying to drive business to anyone really, i just made a video about it as my own other hobby of making videos. Yes Jason is appreciative of me making it...
