did that, took it to the vets yesterday. it was HUUUGE! i mean really, really big. it must have hurt passing that one i tell ya! also with the poop was some of the substrate so good job it was removed and replaced with bubble wrap.
still not using her bad arm...well she has but not very often...
thanks for the links, thats good info!
ive gave her as much cal + vits as she would normally eat when dusted on 10-15 crix. i dont give her loads. i got some solar drops today and put one drop on a cricket which i still had to force feed and gave her another cricket and a meal worm...
the vet gave her liquid cal with some water to re-hydate her, im still having to force feed her and i cake the crix and worms with calcium dust and vits every other day and every 3 days im giving her the paste in the photo on page 1 (only 3-4 a day as force feeding her is stressing her v bad) so...
Well...just got back from the vets and i didnt come back alone!
he did say it was mbd - very early stage, and as she is still a youngster he couldnt take blood. What he did do is mix a little cal with some water. should be good in a week. as an extra precaution i bought a new repti-glo 10.0 as...
thanks for the replies, i really, REALLY appreciate it. she fell again today (from when i got home) and found her hanging by her back legs upside down. I have taken the ficus out now as i think that was causing more harm than good.
i hope the visit to the vets tomorrow has a good outcome...
its only mesh between the bulb and my critter, so no loss of the rays. to help her out a bit more i have used a lid from an old cricket container which is wedged in the tree directly under the bulb, so far so good.
Just been searching round all the local pet stores and none had rep cal or...
its got a zoomed retisun 10.0 on the top of the tank and closest spot it the tree is 2-3in. wire mesh is what the top is made of. i dust every feed with this calcium dust, the vits are used once every week-2weeks.
im getting really concerned now, tuesday cant come quick enough!!!
heres the story...
Nemo, a female veiled i got last xmas who was 1 month old. she is now around 5 months old.
i got her a ficus tree 3 weeks ago and washed off any chems/pesticides and trimmed to fit the enclosure. She was cautious for the first day but soon got on with exploring her new...
When i had my tarrantula i had a few escape, and one particularly noisy bugger hid behind the central heating boiler...one can of fly spray later :D directly underneath it and he came crawling out, soon gasped his last breath. definately works but if the cam is in the same room you should remove it!
thats only about 25% pi**ed off, more of a warning, she sure lets me know when to back off (lots of black spots, and the most intense pale green i have ever seen)
an early pic from 1 month old,
Got through the early sleeping prob, I added a third misting during the day and we had a bit of a cold snap here in the uk recently so timed my central heating to come on sooner and warmer...no more naps! phew.
introduced her to mealworms recently (only the small ones) she loves em...
searching is your best bet for info, rather than waiting for enough info being posted in responding.
you will prob need to double your budget, mine was £297 roughly for all the equipment, cham and the calcium + vits etc.
and start off with one first if you are really sure about getting...
Taken your comments on board.
it is getting close to when she normally goes sleep, might be why?
she is nearly 3 months old now. eating 10-15 crix a day, i dust every meal with cal and 2 a week i dust cal and vits. the vits i will be reducing when 4mths+ to once a week, when fully matured...
had nemo out a few weeks ago and she fell from my hand onto my jumper (height of 6") and i think she was winded or concussed (sp?)
she just lay there looking up at me and then closed her eyes! i s**t myself thinking she was dying, i put her back in her cage and she lost the use of her front...
picture removed for the safety of other chams ;)
i realise it wasnt the best thing to do now and may give others and new people the wrong impression about handling.
Are they after 1 each? or 1 to share, because if they want one each then i would say get 2 of the same sex (pref males as females can and will lay eggs whether they have mated or not) only saying this as it would rule out the chance of them mating and thats a can of worms you dont wanna be opening!
My veiled done the same thing on the weekend. i had her out and she was on my jumper, she started moving and fell about 6" onto my lap (soft landing on my jumper) and i think she may have been winded? she just laid there, eyes closed and just rolled around with her arms in tight...i s**t myself...
