a hole in a surface only weakens the surface that is at a twice the diameter of the hole. So if you put a 1/2 inch hole in the glass the surface will only be waeker at a distance of 1 inch away from the hole. Sorry that is the engineer in me;)

Thanks

If I have to I will change the screen. I really don't want to, but I am still in a position to do it if need be. I really want to be sucessful with the Chameleon. They are such fascinating creatures.
I am talking Physically. Do you just throw the food in and let nature take its course or do you use tongs and hand feed? For snakes and geckos and frogs we used to just throw in the crickets. Is there any preferred method for feeding? Do you get many escapees? I hate crickets. Hate the...
I built my own cage and used galvanized steel PVC coated 1/4 inch hardware cloth for my screening. I wanted something heavy duty so that was what I thought would be best. I am seeing here that people are using Vinyl and Aluminum for their screening. Did I choose poorly? I found the...
No I am just a sheeple who drank the Koolaid. I am an avid do it yourselfer. Plus I know a lot about moving water as I am a reef keeper. So I was going to make my own out of a power head and a timer, but I could not do it for much cheaper than the Mist king system. I have not used the system...
I found a twin 24inch fixture on clearance at Menards. i think I paid 10 dollars for it. I built a box out of 3/4 inch plywood and lined it with aluminum tape to reflect the light. I have a daylight bulb and reptiglow 5.0 it lights my cage beautifully.
I just got the shipping confirmation for my mistking!!!! I am so excited!!!!!! Now I have been looking at some setups and they have a drainage system attached to the enclosure, do i need one of those?
I don't want to start an argument, But rest assured that ALL shops be they Pet, Hobby or big box are out to make money period. they may or may not love their merchandise or animals, but they all want to make the sale.;)
You know as I think about this more, Besides the people who actually Keep chams, who is going to know the information that the people on this forum know? I mean lets face it we love these animals and learn all we can in order to keep them to the best of our ability. The animals are our pets so...
I am a newbie when it comes to the current care and husbandry of Chameleons. I was however a very active reptile keeper in my youth. I even worked at a pet shop with a herpetologist for a few years to make my way through collage. The pet-shop I worked in was extremely knowledgeable about...
I have a 300 gallon reef tank and an Ebo-Jager 300 watt can heat the up to the point it will kill all the fish and be very warm to the touch. I think one of these in a 5 gallon reservoir would heat it pretty quick.
