I was actually wondering too, why aren’t ceramic bulbs that emit no light not the preference for a basking heat for chameleons? I keep seeing so many eye problems throughout the forums potentially by the lights, so why aren’t they used instead?

My guess is vitamin A deficiency.. maybe issues with the lighting in his previous cage ... we will see!

I just got a new chameleon ... he has this same issue and I will be taking him to vet Monday. I’ll let you know what was determined... here’s a pic of my little dude... as you can see he has the same “puffiness” it’s almost cloudy and he looks blind. I’m addition, I did let him know of these major errors and how I plan on taking him to the vet.. he apologized and admitted he wasn’t exactly the one caring for him... ( I’m assuming because he’s a rolling stone) . Hopefully he realizes the extent to his mess up here .
