It's called "Corrugated plastic" it looks just like cardboard, you know with the two sides with a wavy piece in the middle and it is white. It is near the window section. It cost $8.37 for a 2' x 4' piece which is a perfect size for a cage wall.

I am no expert but I think the 1" crickets are to large for a 5 month old, they should only be the size of the space between his eyes.
The plant should not have potting soil in it because it can harm him when he eats those white pieces in it, either remove the soil and replace it with top soil...
When I was a little kid my parents moved into a brand new house and a few weeks later we noticed the house was infested with roaches. With some research we found out the house was build on a old cotton mill and the cotton was still in the ground which caused the roaches to multiply like crazy...
I give you a lot of credit for being able to have roaches in your house. They creep me out something fierce. I am scared one would get loose and I would end up having thousands of roaches in my house.
It looks like that because his hand and wrist is very swollen.
Keep it clean and and like FaunaBgirl said just move your hand slightly each day so it doesn't stiffen up on you but try to really baby it. Did they not recomend a sling for a few days to keep it elevated to help with the swelling...
Take the bark out because it can cause impaction in your chameleon if they eat a piece and it is just not worth the risk. I don't have anything in the bottom of my cage and I find it easier to clean this way also. All I have to do it take a tissue and clean the droppings as the happen.
