It’s not actually that close just cuz I’m raising a young female hoehnelii and need to keep the heat pretty low for what the lights produce I think it’s just leap lights being really good the room isn’t too well lit in if itself it’s not a cave tho
Is my hibiscus blooming or starting to produce flowers???? I’ve seen posts on this being hard if so how is this possible???? All I have is one leap led and one leap uvb in here along with ambient light
I love joshes frogs too tho it’s just they never have any large crickets in stock and since I buy thousands at a time of the small ones rainbow mealworms was my cheaper option
I get my crickets from rainbow mealworms you gotta remember crickets aren’t easy and need lots of ventiliation and a clean environment otherwise they get the plague between dead bodies and just die they also have different types of roaches too there
I wouldn’t have seen him if not for how long I looked he especially hides super well in plain sight I only ever see the female but she’s always hiding behind all the sticks so I can’t photograph her
Time to throw away my misters, t5s and leds and go shove all my species in the same tiny glass cage and one drinking glass may not be enough…you think 2 would cut it? I guess I’ll just get a t8 uvb bulb doesn’t matter which one right they all put some light and then a red nightlight too in case...
All animals need vets from fish to dogs to even us humans need medical attention there’s no animal that won’t get sick I’m sorry to say but if you can’t afford or simply don’t want to take your pets to the vet then you shouldn’t get any more pets you should ALWAYS have money for a vet no matter...
I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of this maybe it’s just because inverts gross me out so it’s hard for me to imagine how people would want them as pets but I guess it goes the same for snakes and yet j keep them so I guess I can’t judge I’ll definitely get this started as I could use a few...
The idea is if the parents do then the babies won’t as long as they are raised away from the parents and you can start a breeding colony off of one’s you produced to feed off
So uhhh where can I get some? I wanna feed some of my female mosyly uroplatus but I’ve never seen a garden snail in my area and I’m not sure whether aquatic snails are okay I’ve also heard horrible things about snails carrying many parasites and I would rather not risk that which is why I’d like...
*casually tosses small lobster roach colony* if I would’ve known the chance of infestation with them I woulda never got them plus my chameleons don’t take interest I’ll stick with Kenyan and dubia with discoid and bananas as a treat
Hello guys I’ve made a new Instagram to track the progress of my various breeding projects called cryptic.dragons where I’ll be focusing on mostly brookesia stumpfii and thieli as well as uroplatus silkore and phantasticus and some side projects like hoehnelii as a passion project and lateralis...
I might just do a pvc pipe with hardware cloth because my large cage is coming apart my 18 by 18 by 36 could work for my carpet chameleon and it’s still in good condition so for now I’ll only have one outdoors for now
How do you guys manage? I love bioactive and naturalistic but some of my animals although do well the terrarium itself doesn’t and I find especially my hognose snake will just uproot all my plants to the point of moving him into aspen some of my leopard geckos are pretty destructive too and I’m...
I know those branches they sell them a lot at pet stores I used to use them for my reptiles but they mold easily despite being marketed for aquariums and tropical reptiles even in my desert gecko terrariums they molded never to that extent tho I’d just switch to oak branches they work well and...
