Thank you it’s been proving challenging to find females available in terms of caging i have plenty of empty enclosures and lighting for them but when a few females pop up uou know I’m snatching them up
Two male carpets the screen climbing is new and soon both males will go into leap habitats when they arrive tomorrow! Slowly building a small breeding group and just need some females
Yes I got him from a breeder here in hoping to add a f. Minor male and in time when a female becomes available try a breeding project with them as well as lateralis as they are smaller so I can get away with smaller spaces which is kinda selfish but they are all beautiful species and minor males...
Oh and the gnats mine usually eats them he’s small enough to consider them food and will NEVER say no to anything that flies so I’ve never had an issue with fruit flies with him which is nice
I set mine up like any other chameleon mine is set up like the standard Jackson’s enclosure I use heat shrink film to cover the sides and back and in terms of humidity I just have the fogger at full blast for a few hours at night and mist a little during the night and I don’t observe mine going...

I mean Arcadia I think those uvb fixtures only take like 2 inches or so of height but they are quite necessary especially for larger cages. I personally just buy within the thousands and pray they live as I don’t feel like taking care of them besides the weekly cleaning and frequent gutloading
I know I’ve messaged a lot but this is just what works for me and what I’ve used although I’d also be open to better lighting set ups as long as they don’t break the bank and are benificial to the animal
Oh these fixtures do produce a little more heat than just a single uvb fixture would so I’d be aware of that it doesn’t reach far down and quickly dicipates if you have all screen but if you have a solid sided cage then you may not need a basking bulb with just this fixture
I just lay them on top of my cages and they seem to be fine and measure the uvi from the basking branch with a solameter I do use uvb and led in the same fixture it’s just less cables I’d say its pretty secure I’ve never had any issues with it. I hear great things about Arcadia fixtures but I’ve...
I’ve never seen Arcadia or zoomed bulbs longer than 24” in pet stores but online you can find some I believe I found some available in larger sizes for uvb on tamura designs as for fixture I use this and just replace one of the plant light bulbs with a t5 uvb bulb
The zoomed brand uvb is easier to get than Arcadia I moved to Arcadia 6% uvb and some PetSmart have it in stock and imo it’s better as it provides slightly more visible light and on average lasts longer
That seems like a lot of heat idk Jackson’s are pretty cold tolerant with 55-65 being a good nighttime temp some people go as low as 40s and they do fine anything above 85 can be pretty deadly for them especially after a long time you don’t really need nighttime heat unless you get below 50 as...
Can we just fill this up with uv burn images on chameleons it’s hard to find images for reference and I find heat burns especially on veileds but I never find any uv burn images and if anyone has any examples I’d like to see them myself and for others who come across this as reference
