I took Olivander out today for a major strip down cleaning of his cage and some repotting/rearranging of plants. Despite being lured with and fed his favorite silk worms, he was not thrilled. He had some interesting colors and patterns, though.... @jajeanpierre he finally showed a few spots of...
Hahaha I realized it has been a while since I gave you an update, so I figured I better get on that! And thanks so much!
I can't wait to watch those nails get deeper, and that is really interesting that they change with mood too.
So far I don't notice any yellow. He gets a rusty orange patch...
Thank you! And you aren't kidding.... He is a tough bugger, and so easy now. After switching to his nice big cage a while back and getting the perfect cool temp and humidity, he is basically stress free. Montane species really are the best!
Well I'm just gonna keep this thread going instead of starting another one... More updates!!!
Olivander is now over 8 months old, healthy, active, and happy if the dogs and I keep a distance. I totally understand him getting freaked out when the great Dane walks in but it is so funny to see...
It's been a really hot, dry summer here so we haven't had as much outside time as we would like. Today is perfectly cool, though! It was a little rough getting him out... Took at least 10 minutes and two silk worms, but I got him. Olivander was a little too quick once outside so these aren't the...
Thanks everyone!!! I have a TQ Gracilior.... Doesn't seem to be a plant eater, but I will probably keep it out just in case. Good to know!
You guys are good.... And quick!
My doctor's office was literally throwing away this plant... Well, plant set I guess. It seems as if there are four different things in this pot. I don't know what any of them are, but they looked interesting. Then I was thinking they would look nice in my enclosure if they are safe. Anyone know...
HAHAHAHAHAHA! I like it.... wouldn't have picked it, but it's a funny name.
And yeah, Oli was pretty shy at first. It took a lot of time to get him used to my presence, just with me hanging out reading books by his cage or moving around in that room often. After a little while, I left the...
Well since I just found out this handsome little fella is my little guy's brother, I just had to check him out some more! He looks like a cute little lemon after seeing Olivander's turquoise all the time! @jajeanpierre certainly has the touch when it comes to bringing gorgeous graciliors into...
@jajeanpierre I was checking out @Rorschach 's pictures of your yellow guy... I love how there is such a distinct difference in colors from the same clutch! Pretty incredible
Here is a pic if it helps. At first I thought maybe the crotons on the bottom didn't get enough light or water, but the ficus is right up there and having the same problem.
I have quite a few live plants in my enclosure, and just recently most of them started dropping a lot of leaves. Three crotons (two separate species) and my creeping ficus are the main ones afflicted. The pathos, fern, and one other type of croton seem ok.
The room is air conditioned to keep...
@guanagator not the most recent clutch. He was hatched on Feb 5/6. I think she had another clutch hatch since then... though she has so many over there, who can keep track! Hahaha
This is Olivander, my 6 month old TQ Gracilior. Not the most impressive picture, but I like it! Haha And I just love this little guy. Everyone else has some lovely looking chams, too!!
