10 Month Veiled eating Majesty Palm and Japanese Aralia!

So I’ll give you a really muddied answer. unfortunately we really don’t have a definitive answer on what plants are toxic for chams or veiled in particular. There is very few cases of plant poisoning that can be 100 percent confirmed to actually be from ingesting the plant. Fact is we rarely...

Anyone worked with pond foam on large cages?

I’m planning on making a naturalistic background in my dragonstrand large atrium clearside enclosure using pond foam. And I was just curious if anyone had any experience working with large cages and pond foam and if I can get any tips or tricks. I got the basics online watched hours of videos...

Oh that’s a good point I didn’t think of that can just set it before I go to bed and lower it in the morning. Thanks for the advice

    Crickets got out!!!

I got a good trick for yah. Put some crickets in a smaller container for your cham to feed him or her and when he goes to strike a cricket eventually he’ll grab a Dubia and usually after they try them they’ll go for them. Or try a red runner they move much more than a Dubia. It took my cham a...

    Repti fogger mod?

Only worry I have with this is if I set it on it’s own timer sometimes the digital devices still require you to turn them back on. My ceramic heater works that way when the thermostat turns it back on you still have to go press the on button again so it’s basically useless with the timer.

    Repti fogger mod?

So this one does have the fan correct? I got a bradypodian thamnobate coming shortly as well so I’d like to be able to run both cages off it if possible

    Repti fogger mod?

I have a large atrium dragonstand cage coming for my panther shortly and I’m going to have the fogger split of into four hoses to spread throughout the cage. But my problem is the little 1 liter bottle that it comes with isn’t going to cut it. I’ll be lucky if it lasts the night with how big the...

    Crickets got out!!!

Just wanna make sure I stress that crickets are an ok meal but def not what you want to feed your cham all the time the protein and calcium content of a Dubia is much higher plus to much of one thing is never a good thing no matter what animal or human. I’m not gonna slam crickets because I know...

    Crickets got out!!!

They just don’t set up their enclosures properly or give good info on how to properly set up your own. And sometimes those chams can be in those things for months and months at the pet store before their sold. Their fed non gutloaded crickets. It’s just all about quick turn around and money...

    Crickets got out!!!

Petco and Petsmart are cruel to their chams so I try to not support them and you can get much better ordering them from someone. Look at feeders on this website and you’ll see people selling them. But I buy mine from full throttle feeders or rainbowmealworms. I’ve even ordered crickets from them...

    Crickets got out!!!

I bought two of them and made both of them just so I can clean one and put them in the other. But that’s just to make it easier not a necessity could just dump them into a bucket while you clean. Idk if you know but Dubias can’t climb the sides they can’t fly they can’t live in your house unless...

    Crickets got out!!!

Yah I tried the stupid little cricket keepers and they work ok but what your gonna do is end up to losing crickets probably trying to get them out of the container into a bag. Where as a 15 gallon tank is only 15 bucks or something and you can buy 200 at a time and have them all well properly...

    Crickets got out!!!

Honestly though I’d suggest trying Dubia roaches or red runner roaches as a staple. They have much better nutrition and easier and less stinky to raise.

    Crickets got out!!!

A glass aquarium just glued smaller mesh to the bigger mesh top I bought to be safe although not needed. Only problem I had with this setup was they crawled up my thermostat wire and got out cuz I had a little hole where it came into the cage. So I drilled a hole in the top filled it with hot...

    Roaches, Roaches, Roaches!!

Only thing else I’d suggest is digging out the egg sacks and getting rid of them far away from your house. Short of that your gonna have thousands in no time.

    Roaches, Roaches, Roaches!!

I smear Vaseline along tops of my red runner container just to prevent any escapes even though it’s covered. Also liquid silicone works. But yes I think they’d make a good staple But good luck keeping them under control haha. If you only have one reptile look for friends to give them to cuz once...

Ok to leave Dubia in food dish overnight?

That’s a good plan. I kind of shot myself in the foot cuz I built his cage then ordered the feeder so had to find a place it fit between but maybe I’ll just make my own smaller feeder to use till I get my other cage cuz I don’t want feeding him to be a scary experience me always pulling that...
