When I went to Madagascar, I didn't go for the chameleons. But I fell in love with them while I was there. I certainly didn't expect to see them everywhere, but there they were.
I have to disagree with most folks here; not enough people go the extra mile to make their enclosures special. Yes, your chameleon doesn't care, but it's a wasted opportunity not to enhance the look of your enclosure. Nothing looks as spectacular as a well done naturalistic /creative enclosure...
It would help mitigate the risk if the leaves aren't easy to remove. It isn't easy to remove the leaves on most fake plants without using your hands, and they just have the tongue.
Do you know if anyone has posted a video here of their cham on this forum? I checked youtube and the only one I could find is the original science one. I'm definitely trying this when I get my Panther
It definitely won't bother your chameleon, it'll be invisible to him. It would be cool to do a time lapse video. Regarding infrared, it sounds interesting, but it wouldn't make very compelling footage to watch him sleep all night 😄
I was wondering about how much water per day (or per week) used for a 2 nozzle MistKing system, running 5 minutes a day. I need to know what size container to get. I'm thinking 10 gallons because I don't want to add water to it often.
Thanks.
I love this post. Too many people ruin a beautiful vivarium with ugly randomly placed pots. One idea I had is to use coconut husk planters, which look very natural.
I used the cups and mix from joshsfrogs, and added 3 crumpled coffee filters on top before closing the lid. Just follow the recipe on the mix. It's not expensive.
I've been making weekly fruit fly cultures for over 10 years and it's not that hard once you get into a groove. It's easier to buy a pre-made mix online. I don't think humidity is a big factor.
