Id argue this is correct to an extent. But the capacity in which they feel that emotion is what I say doesnt exist. More like an involuntary response to a situation, rather than a thought out reaction based on situation and previous experiences.
My personal definition of emotion is the release of specific chemicals in the brain that create visual and physical responses bases on a reaction to a situation. I mentioned this on my post on the thread this is related too.
Example:
Epinephrine also known as adrenaline, is a chemical that is...
It usually all blows over @Jammoos . This is usually the only topic that gets us fired up. This and how to respond to new members. Which this covers both. :ROFLMAO:
Im not apologizing. Chameleons do not feel emotion, they need uvb, they need calcium, they need humidity, they need a varied diet. This isnt me pushing a view, this is me quoting what is seen as scientific fact and others arguing what has been proven as fact. What I see everyone getting offended...
I cant speak for Brody, but for myself, quoting facts are never a form of belittling. When someone comes at me with the emotion arguement I just go off the assumption they quite litterally dont understand. Your need for their to be a bond i a purely human sentiment. The fact of the matter is...
I understand this I really do. My problem is, when someone asks a question like "is my chameleon crying?" I see this as a husbandry issue. If someone is projecting that much emotion on to their chameleon, this person is probably taking their chameleon out too often, or into public, letting them...
Emotions are controlled by chemicals and parts of the brain that are not present in a chameleon. They do not experience fear or anxiety under the context your labeling them no. Every action, including the ones you mentioned before, like reaching into their cage are, in fact, instinctual. They...
Just an honest question. We love hearing about how to improve our husbandry. We love listening to Bill go over husbandry on his podcasts. Naturalistic hydration, bio active, uvb lights etc., all things we want to know more about. So why is it, we willingly except information that science has...
As for the crying. Chameleons actually use water they get from misting to clean their eyes. So you will occassionally see them "crying" or even jutting watter out their eyes. Beforehand you'll usually notice their eyes convulsing. The lining in their turrets is much like the lining of our...
Humans according to science feel love because of the need for a group. If you believe in evolution than this would be because of the evolutionary adaptation of strength in numbers. We build bonds, have friends, do group activities. Chameleons do not posses the part of the brain even required to...
