I built this enclosure to allow my Chameleon to spend warm summer days outside without the fear of her getting too hot or eaten by a predator. The base is part of a wine barrel with a set of roller under the bottom to allow it to be moved around the patio as needed. I planted a tall hibiscus...

My Review of the EcoZone
Hello All,
I just noticed this post and that I would add my experience. I've been using the EcoZone now for 7+ months and think it a great device. I have it controlling my basking spot, UVB, MistKing and night heat lamp. It has allowed me to enjoy my Veiled more...
I agree… I was surprised to find that many eggs. What type of feeding schedule do you have for your females?
Question about the temperature… I understand the popular opinion is to keep the temperature around 80 degrees for a female veiled. Is that the basking spot or the average...
All,
I just wanted to follow-up to my original post about my female veiled (Fergie) and our first egg laying experience. She successfully laid 61 infertile eggs a few days ago and appears to be doing great. I would like to thank Kinyonga for the immediate assistance and jannb and others...
Glen,
I'm in the same boat as you right now. :( My girl has had no problems eating since I've had her, but she just stopped eating on the 13th and to the best of my knowledge has only eaten two wax worms since then. I've tried several different bugs and worms each day, but no luck.

One other thing that seems to be overlooked in these discussions is the fluctuation in room temperature where your cage is setup. Also, I find it interesting that many people often recommend a specific wattage bulb.... As Carlton pointed out it depends on the distance from the basking perch...
I did a good bit of research at the following site as it had some good indepth info about this topic. It helped me decide between the 10.0 and the 5.0. I ended up with the 5.0, but my cage is smaller (for now). ;)

Looking forward to the Pics of the cage. I'm...
You might consider putting some distance between the basking lamp and the top of the screen to help avoid a burn. I understand they're better able to detect heat from their backs so if she's upside down she might not be able to sense the tempeture correctly and get a burn more easily. Once she...
I understand.... Mine does not like to be sprayed either, but if it's on her terms then she will move into the mist on her own. Funny how they're all differnt and one method doesn't work for all. I would work with her to find a way to get her to mist longer.
I think you're doing the right...
I unknowing used a compact light for the first four months I had my veiled... fortunately I didn't have any problems. I new to Chameleons, but have researched a ton of info and I agree you could have a problem with the light so if possible I think it would be better to replace it. Also, the...
