The veiled is male and the panther female.
They both go very dark in colour, which I always thought was stress but they do head straight for each other when one or the other is out free roaming. That's why I'm a tad confused.
I haven't put them together in the same cage and I wouldn't do that.
I've got a veiled and a panther.
They are in different parts of the room but when I have either one out they always rush off to see the other one.
Both climb up each others cage and seem to want to be together. No hissing or anything just sheer devotion.
Is this normal for different species?
Are there any links on here to help with sexing a young panther chameleon?
I was sold a youngster as a male but I'm beginning to wonder if he is in fact a she. I really don't mind too much , although I had to pay extra for a male.
Hi and welcome.
I've got a veiled chameleon and I hope you will enjoy yours as much as I do mine. They're awesome characters.
This forum is superb for help and advice.
Have fun with Diesel!!
I'm going to move my veiled charm into a reptibreeze because he's outgrown his 'baby' enclosure .
I'd like to use the same kind of uvb /heating that he's currently using.
I've got a 35w exoterra sunray unit.
Would one of these be okay for a reptibreeze or would I need to up the wattage...
I've been given some branches from a Rowan Tree and would like to know if I can use them in the reptibreeze.
If I can do I need to do anything to prepare them?
Thanks.....
I've been wanting a panther chameleon for many years and finally got a tiny little boy yesterday.
To say I'm chuffed is an understatement.
Smokey is just adorable and cute.
I'm looking forward to many happy years with him. :D
Thanks everyone.
I will have the enclosure up and running to check all temps, humidity etc are correct before getting my chameleon.
I keep dietery suppliments all the time for my other reptiles and lizards so that's all sorted.
I will make sure I have the correct size of feeders before I get...
I'm looking to get a panther chameleon. This would be my first chameleon, although not my first lizard or reptile. What age is good for a beginner to start with? I know a good reptile chap that has some 3 month olds, would they be ok? He has males which is what I'm looking for.
All input...
Thanks guys. I reckon it's going to cost me roughly about the same as my beardies.
You guys are really good, you point out things that some new owners might have overlooked, i.e feeding the 'feeder' insects. I know all about that due to having other lizards but not everyone would know. Well...
