    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

Thanks for the birthday wishes Trion, thanks everyone for your help. :) Today isn't much better for the little cham, whom I've named Casper. I promised him that if he gets better I'll give him a more noble name. lol Today as usual I managed to get some water into him, and he seemed pretty...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

Thanks! I'll go and pick some of that up tomorrow to try. I'll get some new pics later tonight, if I can. I still only have my cruddy webcam, but it's better than nothing, I suppose. Also, I could hook the cam up live, if you have yahoo messenger.

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

Well.... The spiny's not appearing to be making much progress. When I went in this morning he was hanging upside down by only his back feet... I thought he was dead. x.x He wasn't dead thankfully, and I got some water into him, but he's not swallowing any food today. I've tried decapitated...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

It's about 55 degrees outside, and overcast today. But he does have a UVB light on. :) His color has been improving, his legs turn bright green when I bring him out for food and water. His back and head stay ashen white all the time, though. :\ I dunno - he is looking perkier; I'm just...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

You know, I think he might just make it... He's still very weak, but this morning he ate 3 mealworms, and a cricket, mostly of his own volition. I got a cc of water into him, and returned him to his cage. He pooped so huge I was amazed he could hold so much in that tiny little body of his...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

OK! So the update for today. :) The vet, told me absolutely nothing I didn't already know, says the grey patches are most likely bruising "or something". Told me to do what I'm already doing... and I walked out 70$ poorer for it. lol Although, it was reassuring knowing that I'm doing...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

Oh I will. I'm getting ready for bed right now, starting the nightly routine of turning off everyone's lights and doing the PM Poo Check. I'll post again in the afternoon tomorrow, maybe earlier. :)

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

He has a UVB bulb on, And earlier today I put him in his tank in front of our open sliding glass door so he could get some real sunlight, if just through the top of his tank. I used to have to do the same thing with a sick beardie I had once. :) Thanks so much :)

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

He is in a very low traffic part of the house; and I made him go back into his cage after a few minutes of sitting under my ponytail. The cricket he ate I simply placed in his mouth, between his teeth, and he crunched it up and ate it on his own. When I offered another, he looked up at me...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

Oh! And should I bring him into a bath/shower with me, or just mist him with hot water a lot, as far as the "showering" that was mentioned goes? I would assume just bring him into a shower with me; I bet I could rig up a perch for him with a foam swizzle tube I've got running around here...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

Ahh, I see. He's getting himself up to the top and pressing his nose against the screen. There's nothing to hold onto up there so his feet scrape on the glass.... but ok, I bet I could rig up a bamboo siding so he can't see his reflection. Plus, that'd add to his feeling of security, I think...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

lol, yes I know how scientists are with the names of things... what, a robin is a turdus maximus, if I recall correctly. Ok, so I gave him another bit of water, and to my great pleasure, I got him to eat a beheaded cricket as well. *does a dance of minor success* I put him back in his...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

Thank you! And I know, I'm so grateful. I've been looking at page after page of chams on google images, but nothing looked right. :( I'm so glad the people here could help, and are continuing to be a big help. :) I'm very grateful.

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

Is there a common name for the type of cham he is? And I'll ask my vet about the clinicare, and bigger syringes. I only have the 3/10 size syringe. >.o It won't suck up anything bus straight fluid. Should I put a cricket in his mouth next time I give him water? And yes, I agree...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

ok, I got almost a CC into him orally. I misted down his cage, and him, very well. He's perked up a bit, and refuses to go back into his cage. So he's sitting under my ponytail on my shoulder glaring at anyone who gets close. I think he's feeling better... I managed to get him into his cage, but...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

It has food available, but has refused to eat anything since I got it last night. Hence why I asked if I ought to force feed... I'm afraid it's stressed, and I'm very fmailiar with what stress can do to herps. :( I really appreciate all this advice; if my chammie makes it, I'll be a regular...

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

Well, I'm a first time chameleon owner; but I am not new to reptiles. I've been rescuing/rehabbing reptiles for about five years now, and been an avid reptile fan and keeper for over 8 years. :) So, I'm not a complete newb. lol

    Rescued a Chameleon Last Night...

ok, thanks. I have a vet visit scheduled for tomorrow... I'm afraid to take him though - won't the stress of the trip be worse for him? Right now he's clinging under his basking spot. He gets up every couple of hours to move a little, then he goes right back to the basking spot and...
