Hmm when I had a misting system I had it set for 5 min in the morning 15 around noon and another 5 before bed 3 days a week. Then the other 4 days I'd do 2 5 min sessions. I had varying nozzle types depending on the flow I wanted and the species...... in retrospect that was a lot of water to...
I know we got some wanna be entomologists floating around the forums here. Spotted lanternflies. We have been inundated with the mofos this last month here in PA. If these things were non toxic I could feed 100 chams a day easy. Soooooooo who wants to figure out if they're poisonous or not?
I'd like to elaborate a little on the incandescent bulbs. You have a few options standard bulb, flood and spot. The flood and the spot lights are going to focus the light and heat more on your basking spot. Really no difference between the frosted and clear. Frosted is just going to diffuse the...
Depends. On a lot. I tried grass when I was a new keeper long story short it turned into a muddy fungi farm. I'd go for moss over anything unless I dont know what your setup is like otherwise though. Like what you do for drainage. Someone already mentioned you would need more light down the...
White mildew? Those little white dots? Looks like hardwater spots but could be residual pesticide depending on what the green house used. I would make sure its all gone just to be safe. Put some soapy water in a spray bottle. Try wiping it off. Now that i think about it they could be burns too...
No. Lol! I just got a baby panther thats doing the same thing. Whats more frustrating is it wont eat if im in the room.
Idk what kind of setup you have but i would just put a ton of feeders in.
Where you at in PA i always got mine at produce junction. They dont always have em though. I would buy like five at a time even if i didnt need them when they had a nice selection. Usually cheap. Same goes for their hibiscus. And they usually have some nice bushy schefflera
Lol, you just need to be patient. Like very. Move slow and deliberately. Always approach from below. And if youre trying to handle him slowly bring your hand in under his chin and raise gently. Usually theyll grab right on. If hes skittish or agressive try distracting with youre other hand...
Throw rocks and yell a lot. I recommend a shock collar. The ones that use 9 volt batteries are a little large for chameleons. Go with the smaller version with the watch sized batteries. It doesnt put out as much juice so you might have to zap him repeatedly into submission. You can get them on...
The waterfall needs to be cleaned frequently. I know it looks nice but youre just asking for it to start growing sludge. I usually dont recommend them. I did the same thing btw. I got a waterfall cause it looked cool and it just became too much of a hassle to clean. Also live plants live plants...
Dont give him calcium with d3 if hes getting it natural sunlight. It will do more harm than good. And you dont need to use a multivitamin if youre gutloading but thats up to you. I always perfered gutloading to avoid the potential of hypervitaminosis. So that being said a little goes a long way.
thanks for the response chamfriend1. My point was im not trying to set up a brackish environment its got freshwater fish in it. What i wanted to know was whether or not giving him rocksalt (the type used in water softeners) would be a viable option.
hey guys how was your day!?
I havent been on in a while hopefully some of you are the same people i used to talk to. gimme a shout out if you were.
ANYWAYS
i just made a post in "lizard lounge" that was pushed into "other reptiles and pets".
as i assume there is going to be much...
I know this isnt chameleon related AT ALL. I just really don't know of any reliable aquarium communities. And a lot of you are teh smurts.
My dad put together an aquarium for my kid and i wanted a crab, well i wanted a blue crayfish but those were $25 and the crabs were $3 and they were...
HEY! me either. guess a lot of the old crew isnt around if you didnt get a warm welcome. LOL i came on to ask about crab since i know we have such a knowledgeable community.
