Hey guys, I know this is probably an old thread but wanted to resurface this for anyone who might find the trouble later down the road... I found a good piece of instruction on this from another forum involving gardening and growing food.
They have a few tricks up their sleeves as well! So I...
Yeah it has been probably 2 or 3 days since his last poo. That makes sense... maybe because their body soaks up the hydration from the urate? Theory. lol
This makes a lot of sense, because his poo looks like that with orange and then a tad bit of yellow-white at the tip. I will try more of a...
Haha Heisenberg does that sometimes when he gets overzealous on the spray bottle. He puffs up and breathes all big and then looks at the ceiling. Can get carried away. I certainly don't mind that he prefers being hand-watered... but man, what a weird lil personality! haha
Yeah, yesterday, I held the bottle above his head after unscrewing the spray diffuser part and he saw the drips coming down and went right for it, drank a TON yesterday. But he's not really hydrated today. Maybe the urate I am seeing is from like 2 days ago... he seemed very thirsty yesterday. I...
Here he is...

This is just showing the water that comes down... hard to see in the pics, but it's really obvious in person...

Hahahaa that is so funny. I love what they decide to do. My lil guy sometimes wraps his tail around my index finger and drapes his body, then holds onto my left hand with his front hands to go while his hind legs dangle. Cracks me up! And after he "goes," he gets so bright and needs to like run...
That's good news!! Glad to hear it! :D
Wow it sounds like you have a really awesome setup with lots of lil guys in there. Nice blog btw! I'll definitely be coming back to read more in-depth. I hope you get the condensation figured out easy :) take care!
SWEET! Thanks for sharing this...
Yeah for a while when I was free-ranging him, (temporarily stopped for the winter... he loves my window but drafts are bad for chams) I had the lid of a Dubia roach container on the floor and he'd hit it EVERY time. I feel so lucky to have a potty-trained cham! hahaha And I didn't even have to...
That is genius!! Heat packs. So simple. Good thinking!
Glad your cham is safe and sound in there. I'm stoked to hear everyone is doing ok with their lil guys.
Get a space heater for in there! (If you can shop right now) They are really great and the idea above with some heat packs is...
I was raised in NM and move to CA when I was young. I will be moving to CO though this year. (to avoid the fukishima radiation on the west coast)
I think it's a good thing that you're doing ok in the cold. :)
Oh wow! Well I'm hoping that you will get through this nasty cell without one!
Something I plan to do if it ever came to that is, I have a coleman stove. If the power went out and I needed warmth for my cham, I'd light the stove and put some heat reflecting material (like one of those space...
He's probably getting used to you... It could be that him seeing you go to the effort of moving him from a colder room to a warmer room made him realize you're on his side.
I had a moment like this with my cham and ever since, he's been attached to me like glue.
He had fallen off his vine one...
I'm curious to know how everyone and their chams are doing during this insane cold-spell across 3/4 of the US...
Are your chams doing okay? Are you guys staying warm?
All the best to you! Hope it clears up for you soon..
