Mine are drinking very easily. They need more time for drinking but after 1-2 min of shower, they usually start drinking in almost every case.
If they don't, I know I don't have to insist and the best thing is to come a bit later.

They were left at room temperature from December until september (which included a high variation in temperature here) followed by 2 diapauses (3 if we include that december started at 19°C by day):

The caterpillar is probably bigger (10-12 cm for 15 g) [I guess because I never bred hornworm]. You need 5 to 6 weeks for the life cycle. The moth needs at least 1-2 months to rest...
