My 5 to 6 month old veiled cham stayed up all night while his uvb light was off and now (12pm) he's asleep with the uvb on. I don't know if this is bad or he is just being weird. Help?

Glass cages are not the best for chameleons because they need airflow. Also having bark or woodchips as a substrate could impact him if he ingests it. I don't even have a substrate in my cage because it just gets drenched. It is harder to keep humidity up in a screen cage without substrate but...

Mines a baby male veiled too and probably about 3-4 months as well. I've had him for a month but i have no idea when the last time he shed was. I was thinking it could be he stress of being moved to a new place but fine so I have no idea.

Do Chameleons eat their shedding? I've had my baby for almost a month and I haven't seen him shed. I know he eats because I clean his poop and I see him eat and I know he gets enough water and the humidity is good. I just haven't seen him shed.

I had to take the substrate out of my chams cage being it was getting soaked (It was the forest floor wood chips) and since I took them out the humidity in the cage has dropped like 10-15%. Any suggestions as to what I should do to raise it up again besides putting substrate in? Thanks! -Shandi

I have wood chips at the bottom to help keep humidity up. they don't dry well.

Has anyone has any problems with mold? I'm so afraid the cage is going to get mold because its always wet. -Shandi
