I got Stella last summer, and mid november she started having problems. I had been told she was a he, so I never allowed her a laying bin when she needed it. And by the time I realized what was going on, there wasn't much I could do. She was past the point of laying on her own and had "days...
I've actually been following your thread, I'm glad to see she's doing good after the surgery! My mom actually surprised me and let us get the surgery too, she had it this morning. Vet did an excellent job and Stella is in great shape for having it just done. I'm hopeful she'll make a quick...
Stella, formerlly known as Dexter, is eggbound. She's had 3 shots of oxytocin and 2 of calcium with no results. She has shown no more interest in the bin and is still eating but not as much. Doesn't move around very much. She hasn't pooped in like 2 weeks. Talked to the vet today and he says...
Maybe you should keep him in your room that way he gets used to you? I keep mine in my bedroom so she knows me and I can handle her without her getting all scared.:)
That looks just like what I found and thought to be an egg laid by my 7 month old who I think has MBD! What ended up happening here? Was that an egg, and did she lay the rest?
this is what I found. Eggs or no? They are pretty small but so is she, and it looks like there's a lot more of these in the hole. They aren't very smooth
Hey guys, this morning I noticed she had moved out of the bin and onto a branch. And I dusted some crickets and she finally ate some! And I checked in the bin and found some thing I think could be eggs, but I have no idea because I've never seen any before. These are different than what I found...
Yes, my vet mentioned that too. And I'm fairly positive that she has that too. At one point my cricket source stopped dusting them without telling me. How can I help that? :/
That looks like it could be what I found. I'll definitely check again either tonight or tomorrow, I just wanted to leave her alone for a while and for her a chance to lay them all if she could. I will let you know what happens, thanks for the help
That would be great, thanks! I tried to find some earlier but I couldn't. She hasn't dug any tunnels though, she's only been sitting with his butt inside the partial hole I dug for her. But my bet said she is probably too weak to dig her own..
No I didn't see it. But this thing looked just like an egg, and when we opened and it felt like an eggshell and liquid came out of it. Are you sure it's not possible they could just be little? It seemed like there was more in the dirt around it but I didn't pick them up.
She has been sitting in the top of the dirt in the bin I made her all last night and today. I took her out earlier to give her a warm bath as my vet ree quested and when I was putting her back in I found what looked like a tiny egg. It was very small and cloudy and hard but we broke it open and...
I realize this is an old thread, but what ended up happening here? I'm in a very similar situation as my cage is small and she won't lay in the flower pot I made for her. Reply if you can. Thanks
