Update: Unfortunately, the smaller of the 2 died :( It wasn't able to properly hold itself up and it's arms kept getting stuck to its sides. But the other one seems to be doing pretty well and it turns out, it is actually an Eastern American Toad. Does anyone happen to know how to sex these...
When I first took our panther, Thor, outside he did seem to be a little scared. But I think that's just because there's so much for the chameleon to take in, there are a lot of new surroundings. But I do also know that chameleons tend to get darker when they bask in the sun, because the dark...
That is amazing, I'm sure he will be a lovely chameleon! My boyfriend named both of the chameleons. He thought the Greek God names fit the chameleons perfectly. Zeus seems to be afraid of Thor, but Thor seems to think Zeus is a female and gets very excited when he sees Zeus. We tend to allow...
Thank you! He is quite something. When my boyfriend first bought him, I was a little unsure about owning chameleons, but I completely fell in love with them. We also have 2, one Panther and one Oustalet's. It's amazing to see how different their personalities are. We just got our Oustalet's 3...
About 3 weeks ago now, my boyfriend and I were at a mini golf place close to our house. In the little pools of water running throughout the course we found a bunch of tadpoles, so we decided to take some home and see if we couldn't raise them. We had 3 of them, but unfortunately one of the...
if you have fans circulating the air it may be alright. I would say live plants DEFINITELY are essential. Fake plants simply don't hold humidity and moisture. My pothos holds water droplets for my chams to drink off perfect. My fake ficus, the water droplets drop right off to the bottom of the cage
Hey just out of curiosity how would you go about airflow? Pygmy chams can be kept in glass terrariums with success but panthers really cannot. You'll need a few sides of the glass to be a mesh screen to allow air movement to prevent stagnant air that can lead to RI down the road. As for the...
Thanks for the suggestions!
That's a good idea. We'll try and add some more.
We had wanted to use natural branches but unfortunately there aren't many trees around our house that we can take branches from. We looked into buying fake branches that look real, but they can be kind of expensive...
Our Ambanja, Thor, goes on the cage of the door whenever I'm in the room & always wants to come out. Sometimes if I open the door before he gets to the screen he almost runs towards the front of the cage to come out :ROFLMAO: Also, when putting him back in his cage, I'll put my hand on one of...
@Chamifornia Right now, we have not thought about making and selling them. But if we heard from enough people that were interested in them, it might be something we would look into.
Thank you very much!! :):) We put a lot of hard time and effort into making them and decorating them to where we thought our chams would be the happiest. It's not fair for them to be stuck in a cage with minimum space and coverage.
We would absolutely free range if we had the room, but unfortunately we do not :( We do try and take him out of his cage for about an hour everyday, just because I know I wouldn't want to be trapped inside a cage all day long.
Do you think that would be too unstable? I know that kind of stuff...
Hey guys I am interested in adding a Thamnobate into the mix of our chameleons. Just curious if anybody knows of a breeder that currently has them in? I am mainly looking for Mooi River or Fern Hill.
Thanks
