Thanks Jannb! That helps a lot! I am still compiling data and It may take a while, but I hope to get some good averages. I know all chams will be different depending on care, but it would be good to see a rough average of weight vs. age. Thanks again!
I have been searching high and low for a chameleon growth chart and I can't find one. I know every chameleon grows at a different rate, but it would be nice to see what the average is at various stages of a chams life.
I have decided to try to compile as much information as I can and make my...
I know this thread is a little bit older, but I will post another thread in hopes to get a little more traction. I have been searching high and low for a chameleon growth chart and I can't find one. I know every chameleon grows at a different rate, but it would be nice to see what the average...
So I am wanting to build my own enclosure for my cham (male veiled). I feel like he is on the verge of getting to big for his current cage.
Also, he keeps climbing on the screen of his current cage and he is loosing claws. It is a wire mesh cage.
With building my own larger enclosure for...
I think it looks lit a bruise. My cham fell not too long ago and had a very small black spot on his tail and a little on his nose (he is doing well now! glad he didnt have any serious injuries.) I did some looking and it seems like they bruise black like that. Has he fallen recently?
Update!
My cham is doing better!! I switched up his lighting situation so he can't get as close anymore and made sure his basking spot stays at about 80 degrees. The burn looks like its healing nicely and he started to shed again (he has shed about 3 times since I got him in December.) Plus...
Mmmmm.. good idea. I'll have to rearrange his cage and see what I can come up with. I have noticed that when I take him out of his cage (I have a live ficus that I put him on sometimes) he brightens up quite a bit.
I thought it might be a burn too. I lowered his basking branches so he isnt too close to his light, but he climbs up on top of his cage to bask sometimes. Deathadder, he got the spot a couple weeks ago and it came on pretty suddenly, maybe over a day or 2 but hasn't gotten any bigger since then...
My friends have a jackson that takes naps all the time. Ive held it a few times and it would fall asleep on my hand like 1 minute in. Not sure about him napping in his cage, but it seems normal?
