2 hours after posting this Steggi died. He was having siezures and never regained eyesight. No new bulbs were in use, his bulb was due for replacement in 2 months. He very well may have had a bad fall that caused the trauma, we just aren't sure. I guess I am always surprised when a fall is...
Okay, so, I have a male wc Jackson's chameleon that I got last November at a reptile show and he has done fine since then, healthy, active, good eater & drinker. All of a sudden, he has been struck blind!! This morning he was roaming around normally, and this afternoon as well. We go to check...
Just a new pic of my Jackson's Boy Steggi.....he seems to enjoy hanging out on his driftwood and watching TV with us.Took this of him while we were watching Steve Irwin in Madagascar.
Thank you all for the sympathy & support, it is very welcome to us. The rest of our crew is doing just fine. We decided to do a thorough moving & cleaning of the area surrounding Bumble's enclosure are and we found a web in the bottom corner of the wall, my Husband thinks perhaps it was a spider...
These are photos taken of Bumble immediately after he passed away, his eyes were open when he passed. We gave him the dowel rod to cling to even tho his limbs were not functioning just to attempt to give him some comfort.
Thanks for the input. Bumble was male and his enclosure is 4 ft H, 4 ft L, 3 ft W. He did roam about his enclosure during daylight hours but mostly for temp changes....he loved to bask in the sunlight in the mornings and cool down in the shade in the afternoons. He was an earlybird as far as...
Hello all,
Sorry have not posted in some time, have been very busy with life issues like eveyone else. I am sad to report that we have lost our beloved Bumble to some mysterious issue.
Sunday morning the Hubby & I wake up and start the watering and feeding process.....we have many...
Hello and welcome to the forum! I have a jackson's and we currently have Steggi in a vertical enclosure that the hubby made from coated screen and huge pot drain saucers for plants. We keep a mature Pothos and trade out Hibiscus plants every so often when they get a little wilted so he has fresh...
LOL......I know the hissing stage.....here is Pantera POd!
I have yet to get a pic of her chillin' because every time she sees the camera, she goes into killer mode!
Blue is surely possible. We have 4 babies from our mating pair and one of the males is showing lavender and purple when bullying the others. He has been moved into his own enclosure now so as not to stress the others. I will post a pic asap of the Purple Prince!
We are hoping that this small clutch is fertile, but not too sure that it is. We did introduce Bumble to Pantera a little over 2 months ago but didn't witness any hookups. This will be the 4th clutch she has laid and the smallest so far as well......24 eggs. Only her very first clutch was viable...
We have a few chams and here are their names and the reasons behind them.....
Male Jacksons Chameleon Name : Steggi
Reason : He looks like a stegosaurus and lumbers around his cage like one too!
Male Veiled Chameleon Name : Bumble
Reason : When angry, he gets almost black with bright...
Hi,
Hubby & I are in Corpus Christi and we do have a spare cage and would love to help if we can. Please PM me and I will give you phone number and we can see what we can do to help. My name is Jessica, Hubby is Jimmy, we have Veileds and Jacksons along with many geckos & bearded...
Finally got some pics of our Jacksons Chameleon....his name is Steggi and he is wonderful! His temperament is great and he doesn't seem to mind handling too much. He seems to like the camera as well, I swear he posed for these!
We got Steggi at a reptile show in San Antonio and he...
Welcome to the forum!
Luna is absolutely adorable! The Hubby & I have a pair of Veiled Chameleons as well as 6 of thier babies left out of a clutch of 41 hatchlings, so we understand the joy of owning these little guys. So far none of ours seems to be interested in eating dirt. I will be...
The ones I got were wc and the remaining survivor is doing very well so far. She is eating and roams her terarrium at will. Thinking I will stick to larger chams after this, breaks my heart to see them go, even though I know I did my best for them once they were in my care. I also lost the...
We do "handle" our Chams on occassion. I know some feel that handling causes stress, and for the most part I agree. We open the enclosure door and they climb right on out and crawl around at leisure while we watch of course. They all have favorite spots as well. We have the baby veiled...
We have one gravid Pygmy Beraded Leaf Chameleon and I'd be more than happy to shoot a video for you to look at, but you may fall asleep while watching the whole 1 minute video....LMAO.... if she knows someone is watching her, she stands real still until she is sure she is not being watched. I...
LMAO....ya think??? She has major attitude all the time, but she looked receptive at first.....until he started the head butting thing. This is normal for a non-receptive female Veiled Chameleon. No worries....we will see how she feels in a week or so.
Okay....got baby pics now. Proud parents pantera & BumbleBoy.
A Lovely Bunch of nuts!
