i have a male ambilobe a little over a year old, i was just wondering how much of the day your panthers are roaming the cage. mine almost never sits still during the day. he's up he's down. then he walks the floor for a few minutes then back up. his actual sitting still time is only about 1/4...
my cham is through with his antibiotics, and it looks like he is doing great. all symptoms are gone and he's eating well. i guess the moral of the story is pay attention to your animal b/c you will see signs if things are not right. I believe my recent busy schedule is the culprit here, I...
my panther seems to be making a good recovery, and giving the shots isnt as bad as i thought. with 2 people, (1 to hold him, and myself to give the shot) it can be done really fast and with minimal stress to the lizard.
also thanks to everyone for the info on the baytril.
toads have toxic skin secretions, may not kill most animals but can cause a bad taste or make them sick. im not really an expert here but i wouldnt try it. only a few animals are able to eat toads because of this. around here in MO the only think i know of that eats them are hognose snakes...
yes, i agree. i just thought the sooner i took action the better. i didnt want it to set in longer before he received any treatment. i was afraid monday could have been too late for my little buddy.
i just wonder if the stress from giving him a shot every 3 days isnt going to cause more harm...

i actually found another vet that i could get him to, she has treated many reptiles but never a chameleon. he was given an atibiotic shot and i have 6 more doses to give him every three days. he is no longer gasping after i had taken him to the vet. he is eating like a champ and physically still...
i live in south county, lindbergh-tesson ferry area. i have an appointment scheduled for monday thats the soonest i could get. hope thats soon enough, how long does it take before this could cause him to stop eating or reach the point of no return?
anything i can do to help the situation...
i keep him at 80-85 daytime, and 70-75 at night. humidity is between 60-70% and i mist him 3-4 times daily, and he has a dripper for drinking water that is dripping for 1 hour per day.
i did a search and nothing was mentioned about treatment of URI. only symptoms. im convinced my panther has an URI. the other threads state too low temps can cause it, but i dont think that is it im my cham's case as i watch his temps closely. are there any other causes for this? his eating and...
i see, thank you for the info. thats exactly what i was looking for. i also checked out the prism chameleons site, i found it very infomative.

thanks for the responses. my cham is about 6-8 months old and shows some red in the face and front legs. i hope he starts showing more red. seems like he is more colorful when he's scared or sleeping. he is usually green with red but he will turn blue and red and green at times. when their...
just wondering how long it takes a male ambilobe panther to reach its full color potential? i did a search and came up with nothing. im sure it varies from individual but an average will work thanks.
