When I woke up this morning I was immediately worrying about Toby. I wondered, yet again, if this was the morning I'd find him dead. He's been declining for months, and I'm always worrying about him. I decided today's the day.
I dug a little hole under a nice bush near his outdoor cage, or his...
I've had a dubia colony for over 5 years, its super well established and does a great job feeding my handful of pets. The colony is housed in a large topless rubbermaid container with a bunch of egg crate, and I use a hanging ceramic bulb/heater to keep them warm in the winter. I keep the colony...
Yea, the lay box is just a 2 or 3 gallon plastic plant pot so it has big drainage holes. I removed the fungus eggs and each one of them were crinkled on the sides, so I'm betting they were simply duds.
Thanks. I made a new post to answer the specific question of removing the eggs, instead of trying to build on the previous thread about the eggs being laid. I appreciate Kinyonga's reply as much as I do yours :)
Some of the eggs from my panther's recent clutch are yellow and developing what looks like fungus. As mentioned in another post, some of the eggs may have gotten wet from the mist system in the chameleon's cage.
Should I remove these fungus eggs? Am I doing something wrong with the...
No, I only blew the dust off with my mouth before laying them in the vermiculite. Although, now that I think of it some of them did fall out of a drainage hole in the lay-box and probably got hit by my mist-king.
Some of the eggs look to be yellowing and have some kind of fungus. Is that fungus a result of something I have/n't done, and should I be worried about it spreading to the other eggs?
Hey folks!
I've a female and a male panther. Male's over 4 years old, female's right about 2. I've had a really hard time detecting mood changes in the female so I don't normally know when she's about to lay or is receptive to breeding. I've made a few guesses about when to try breeding, but...
While I was hoping it would be a female, I also think it’s looking to be a male. That tail bump is getting rather large.
Thanks for the compliments :) I’m rather attached to the pretty little weirdos!
Oh, and they’re all ambilobe.
Thanks, Jacksjill. I'll keep an eye out for signs of respiratory infection.
Daesie, I purchased that cham in late February with its sister. At the time the sister was only slightly larger but she kept growing normally, while the runt / diver just recently started putting on a bit of size...
One of my younger panthers was stuck in a container of water for somewhere up to 14 hours. I found it floating, luckily still alive, this morning. It seems to not be too much the worse for wear now, but I'm still worried for the little booger. Is there anything I should look out for, health...
I was so worried because if there's one thing I've learned on this forum, it's to always listen to what Andee says!
Seriously though, thanks for the advice. She lost a couple jelly rolls but still has enough chub to be cute :p
I currently care for 2 chameleons. The newer one is a little female ambilobe panther. She's maybe 7-8 months old, rarely refuses to eat, and is fairly chill. She has some odd troubles with her lips and often stretches her mouth before and after eating but seems to get along just fine.
She...
