i have a neighbor that breeds gecko as a hobby, he keeps the colorful ones, and those that doesn't meet his expectations, he either sells them away or just release them to the wild (i'm not going to be a judge of this behavior...)
he was suggesting that i buy his unwanted geckos as a source of...
chameleons will only eat as much as they want to. if you increase the amount of feeders, will she eat more?
the challenge would be to give her more nutrients, especially calcium, for the same amount that she is eating.
apart from dusting your crickets, are you gutloading your crickets well...
thanks for the compliments, i will try to participate in the photo contest with better backgrounds, thanks for your encouragement.
Are there certain locales that are naturally smaller than other locales?
i'm also facing the same question now. my room humidity is about 60% but the humidity inside my incubator remains at a constant 95-99%, i'm concerned too if it's too high
she is born on 1st April, about 5 months old now, and she's only slightly bigger than 5cm in size now (excluding tail length)
is she growing a tad too slow?
setup 1 has lots of horizontal climbing space and perching spots, which is good for your chameleon. but it looks kinda cluttered, which is more of an aesthetics issue.
setup 2 has a lot less horizontal climbing and perching space, but it looks better aesthetically speaking
thanks, i will certainly bear that in mind.
i won't be selling my chameleons, most likely, i wish to trade them for different locales and to broaden the gene pool
btw, could you also help see if this baby cham is a boy or girl, please?
Am i right that this 5cm baby chameleon is a girl?
i'm thinking because of the shape of its tail
is there any chance it might be a boy? also could it be a tamatve?
what could be its locale based on the red tones in its eyelids?
i got this baby hatched from eggs laid by its mother which is...
i studied videos and articles on breeding that mentioned we should leave the freshly hatched newborn baby panther chameleons among the unhatched eggs so they would send signals to the unhatched siblings that it's time to break their shells and come alive...
my question is
1) how long should we...
thanks Laurie,
i will start feeding the newborn panther chameleon tomorrow with pinhead crickets (they are about 0.2cm big)
it was born today around 4pm (and my chameleons go to sleep around 6pm), so i hope it's well and alive tomorrow morning, i'll mist its enclosure with water first so it...
Hi all,
i have a panther chameleon that just hatched today (about two hours ago) and i'v ran out of fruitflies.
I have a shipment of pinhead crickets arriving tomorrow morning. Will newborn panther chameleons be able to feed on the smallest of pinhead crickets?
it's summer here, and 9 out of...
thanks guys, a month ago, this very same chameleon was much smaller, and we thought it's probably a girl. 4 out of every five i asked would say it's a she.
but this morning, i took the picture above and the breeder told me it's probably a boy, which is why i posted here to ask again.
this was...
hi all, this is a masoala juvenile, i bought it about a month ago, and i'm still uncertain if it's a he or she.
could you pls help me see if it's a male or female? i heard you can gauge by looking at its straightened tail.
i bought this chameleon as a juvenile, paying the price as a nosy faly would cost (which is about 40% more than an ambilobe where i'm based, in china)
now that it has grown and colors are showing, my friends on facebook are telling me it's definitely not a nosy faly, it ought to be a ambilobe...
