Yes, agreed! Don’t ever put a bowl of water in the chameleons cage. As stated above, it can go on the floor in the room, near the vent. We sometimes do this in the winter when the air is extremely dry. Also change it everyday. We find it does not collect and spread bacteria in the room the way...
It should be ok. Screen cages are more ideal for chameleons because they need a lot of ventilation. Here we mist the cage very well 20 minutes before lights on, 20 minutes after lights out, use live plants in the cage to help keep humidity up (we always water them at night when lights are off)...
This looks absolutely amazing! I would strongly advise against allowing them to summer together. It seems to really stress them out which can negatively affect their immune systems. A chameleon that might no otherwise get sick may become ill just from the additional stress of co-habitation. A...
We have 1 holdback girl available from this pairing. She was one of 2 alpha females in this clutch. She is from our rbbb Thunderbird x Buttercup (a Jude/Allah girl). She is pictured here, along with her gorgeous sire and also a collage of her family tree. She is $350. I am able to ship her.
Congratulations! That is awesome! We have about 10 of them that just pupated - it’s our first attempt at breeding them. Hope we have as much success getting moths.
Hi! This is Leigh! I’m the owner of Cloud 9 Chameleons. A little about us, we are a small, licensed home-based breeder. Holding dual Master’s degrees in Science and biology as well as 25 years of chameleon ownership is what we bring into the space! All of our chameleons are first, most, our...
I have babies from our ambanja boy, Zuma! They are 2 weeks old at the moment and can go home at the end of June. Some pics of Zuma, then the mom, her name is girl boss. I also included a picture of her wild caught sire and her brother and some of the babies!
Yeah - sometimes they will go on a hunger strike and hold out for a particular favorite food item. Try offering him silk worms. It would be an easier transition and one silk worm has the equivalent of the nutrition in 6 crickets! It will be much healthier for him. You can also try offering him...
This website is awesome! It does all the work for you. They have all the supplies you need, can calculate shipping for you, You can print your fed ex label, I think they will even arrange pick up from your home. https://www.reptilesexpress.com/#
It will be fine. I wouldn’t leave them in overnight. But you may be surprised how quickly he eats them up if they are loose in the cage. My one female prefers this method and she can eat about 6 of them in less than 10 minutes. Maybe just release 1 or 2 and see what happens.
I would keep the room quiet and give him a few days to settle in. I’m surprised he’s not eating. Pretty much anytime I have ever gotten a new chameleon they went after food immeadately. BUT I have also found that sometimes some of them prefer the cup feeding method while others prefer hunting...
If it’s not broke, don’t try to fix it! If your methods are working and your chameleons are healthy why change things, make it more complicated or add another expense? I have live plants in my enclosures to keep the humidity up and a mist system that mists periodically through the day. I have...
