Thank you. I was replying before I saw this lol. I'm a hands on person so these potentially may not be for me. But even if i wanted one right this minute I don't have the funds. I will keep asking questions and doing research.
In no way shape or form did I consider a cham to be like a poodle. Really? I'm not stupid. I do believe there are cases that wild animals can bond with someone. I know a guy who runs a rescue for wild animals and has very close bonds with his tigers, monkeys, bears, and foxes and the many more...
Hello again! I was just spending time rereading everything preparing myself for a decision to purchase a chameleon or not and came across this. Apparently their eyes should be open at all times. Are there exceptions to this? At the expo I held a cham and one of his eyes would close while petting...
You all need to watch this! I was worried you couldn't bond with a chameleon but this for sure gives me hope. You will have to copy and paste to watch. Hope you all enjoy!
Thank you. I get where she was coming from in regards to people throwing large numbers at me and all the info. Different sites say different things. I get the gist of it all. The info has been very helpful. I'm not planning on getting a cham for at least a month or so. Money is a little tight at...
I read somewhere online that you can place ice cubes on top of the lid and let the ice melt that way? Thank you all so much for your help. As with any exotic animal all the info is rather confusing but it will get sorted out. I may not be able to dish out that much money all at once. I may have...
Yes, I am for sure planning on giving them lots of bugs! I read that they also eat vegetation. I was mainly asking about the veggies because I didn't know how people fed that; on the floor or in a small bowl but some say in a small bowl. Bugs are harder to keep in a bowl lol. Thank you so much...
I was trying to upload a photo from my phone to my computer and I can't figure it out but I had a 100 watt Reptile Basking Spot Lamp bulb. It's from Zoo Med. That's what I have for the turtles. I'm assuming the other light is the same wattage. My bf deals with that stuff. We have a 70 gallon tank...
How much did it cost you total for the right one? I'm just trying to get estimates so I can save up before I blow money. I'd rather get everything right the first time.
I work 10 am to 6 pm. It won't be an issue getting a system for them if it's better. I'm just trying to save on money. I literally just read that they're high in fat but I'll be feeding them more. How do you feed your chameleon? Do you just put the food (not insects) on the floor of the tank...
I have sugar gliders and turtles so I'm use to feeding meal worms and earth worms. Now with a baby, will I have to cut up the bugs? Should I use a bowl? Will the chameleon be okay if I just mist by hand before I leave for work and again when I come home?
Do you use a sprinkler system or do you spray with a water bottle sprayer? How often do they eat? I have a list of fruits and veggies and supplements they need.
