Got the new cage and made the switch from the cham cantina to the 18 by 30 reptibreeze. It's definitely easier to moderate temp and humidity. I noticed he won't eat out of the feeder only out of my hand. He also hasn't gained any weight so far and his mbd is looking pretty bad. Not sure what...
I actually am using wax worms as my feeder right now. I do a 1:1 ratio of wax and crickets as my cham is extremely skinny and malnourished and I am trying to help him pack some weight on...
I can take a picture when I get home but my husband took a single pocket of an egg carton and tied it with some metal garden wire (what I use for everything in my Cham cage) and it works great. I use it for worms but I hand feed all the crickets. As far as getting him to do it. Well I stuck them...
so I went and bought some wax worms a few weeks ago. Since it was my first time buying worms of any kind I had no idea she had actually given me meal worms and that's what I had been feeding all this time. Thankfully only for about a week. Ughh.
should I be misting him directly or just his cage? He gets very upset at me if they water sprays him. He doesn't have any broken bones. His legs are all nice and straight. How would you treat mbd without a vet?
So I've had my guy for a little under two months. I got him from an uneducated owner. He was not given enough crickets, water, or right supplements. I have him on the right track, fixed his cage (ordered a bigger one today) and it seems to be going fine. When i first got him he was always black...
wow that is impressive. As a college student with only a small screwdriver I think i'm going to utilize some zipties. I went with the zilla x large. if anybody has pictures of this in their actual house that would be great. I'm having trouble visualizing how bit it's going to be. I need to find...
hmm. I just looked at the zilla cage. It's not as high as the reptibreeze. Isn't it better to have a higher cage than a longer cage? Are there other non mesh options that would be easier for me to attach vines and foliage too?
Okay so I'm ordering a reptibreeze. the xlarge. I have a pothos plant in his cham cantina (can't wait to throw that thing away) and a couple branches. I've got some vines and fake tropical plants in my petco cart but how in the world do you attach that stuff to the sides of your reptibreeze...
@Peachypink okay awesome!!! i got home and my cham was hunting at the bottom so hopefully it was just stress due to moving but if not. Definitely will rig up on of these
yeah as I said, this picture was about a week ago before I added his pothos and climbing spots.
@Peachypink could you post a pic? I like the idea.... thanks!
So my chameleon spent his first few nights on the bottom of his cage. When i fed him all went well. But when i got him more horizontals and greenery he migrated to the top. Which is good. But now he won't eat. The crickets jump to the bottom and he won't go down to eat them? They just stay down...
So I've been giving my guy 10 appropriate sized crickets (on the smaller size) a day. I've read that it should be every day but I've also read every other day. He eats all of them and really livens up during morning feeding time. I also feel he is skinny and could use extra weight. What are your...
