How did the float valve work? (I'm mean I know HOW they work, lol). I'm assuming your waste water line ran thru float to keep barrel from over filling?
If that's what I'm understanding... What happens when float shuts off the flow, but you are still "making" water?
Thanks!
Hi all!
I've gotten away with tap water in my mist king bc it's very soft. But I want to invest in RO system for chams and aquarium. Reason I've avoided so long is the water waste, especially in California is big deal. Wondering if there are people out there that do resivoirs for their RO...
yeah my heater sucks what little moisture is in the air. Wrapping the sides does help, but live plants are miraculous. They hold moisture and actually realease moisture into the air. Pothos are great, can get cheap. Grow really fast, like water and shade, and they can grow thick foliage and send...
The spot is stumping. I'd just keep an eye on it. See if it resolves with his next shed. If it gets worse, then get a vet opinion maybe.
I'd 100% rather a mister over a humidifier. Although I have both. I love having a mister, because if I'm away for a day or two, I know my boys are getting...
Wow didn't realize Mazuri made gut loads. I pulled up their ingredients list and analysis. I'm not super knowledgeable on gut loads, but it has lots of animals protein ingredients and the percentage protein is about twice that of ones like Cricket Crack or Bug Burger. Easy enough test, I'd...

Did your vet ask about supplements? I've not used Rep Cal D3 myself, but I believe it still should only be used one every two weeks like other D3. And generally is mixed with their Herpivite to provide the vitamins. Calcium without D3 is an everyday dust.
I've not heard of Maputo before, so I...
I wish you both luck. Please keep us posted on the outcome.
If it was the only time, it's doubtful he could be impacted from a single meal, especially if he is well hydrated. However, it never hurts to mention it when you see the vet. They should and most likely will ask you many questions...
The only thing I have heard for d3 overdose is hydrate extra, and stop use of d3 supplements temporarily. If he is too weak to drink on his own though, I would NOT personally recommend trying to hydrate him "forcefully" as he could easily aspirate, especially in a weakend state. A vet should be...
This info can also be found on the caresheets on this site. I hope you are in time to help your little guy, but if he is that unresponsive, a vet really is needed asap
Generally chameleons should only be getting d3 every two weeks. And they should have a vitamin like Reptivite every two weeks...
My first thought is a deficiency or over supplementation. But would need more info... Do you give this calcium with d3 every feeding? No other supplements?
And are you saying the UVB light is off right now? Or the red? Heat lamps generally do not have a UVB to them. Also how long are the lights...
What is your dusting/calcium/vitamin regiment look like? And what type of UVB do you use?
Odd that the vet couldn't peg the swelling... Did she have any theories to the cause??
I hate to say this but his outlook is grim to say the best. Have you called around for other vets? That is probably his only chance at this point.
What lights are you using, how often are they on and what temperatures are his cage?
