So my sister in law rescued a turtle from neglect due to a death in a family. Can someone help identify its type and basic husbandry? Or lead me to a care page. Thank you!
Just so you and everyone on here gets update, cause I know you all care a lot bout these lil guys and gals too, This morning, he looked significantly better, he’s his pretty blue again, he went immediately to food bowl, and moving is moving quicker, i just need to get his weight back up.
I...
I’m sure he’s definitely younger then 4 I’ll have to look into when I got him exactly I think it was June 2018 and he was roughly 6 months old a speedy little thing size of my hand minus tail
I’m back at work I’ll look into any bumps, what would the bumps mean if he had them? I never noticed...
Ran home for lunch Please don’t mind the dead leaves I just cleaned them out, do you think it’s too over grown should I cute some vines? And he got some color back today he’s loooking little more his color,
how do his limbs look? When I picked him up to move him a few days ago his grip was...
Thanks, I do care about him a lot, even risking my job for him being late in the morning to make sure he's in a good spot when he wasn't looking so well and a lethargic. I did not have a fecal done, I try to reproduce my own dubia,, but your right they could cary parasites. ill look into that...
He didn't look like this 2 weeks ago, his coloring was good his weight was good, please, don't think I am neglecting my time to him.He wasn't interested in eating for close to week maybe a day or 2 more, which I why I got concerned and reaching out for help, I did weeks of research before...
To my relief he finally ate! I guess he found it hard to get to with the leaves in his enclosure blocking the bowl a bit, but now that he did eat I think he will gain his energy back. Just have a photo of him I took earlier, did look a bit skinny
he’s nosy faly I believe.
I’ll keep a closer...
I’ll post my husbandry shortly, so started maybe a week ago i found my chameleon in the dirt in a pot near the bottom of the enclosure, thought to myself okay one time thing no biggy, I put him back up, he basked and looked fine for 4 days. He appears hydrated his eyes don’t look sunken, I’m at...
Have you ever spent 5 mins looking for your chameleon, (since they can be difficult to find sometimes blended in) and then look at the bottom of the enclosure praying you don't see a dead chameleon?
Yah I know morbid.
Yea i know, i dont usually put that much it accidently poured too much, its ok though he hasn’t eaten in like 4 days, an it was calciun without d3 so I wasn’t too worried
No, no injuries... he just is lazy lol. He only shoots it out once and if he misses he’ll go in close.
the typical schedule. Without d3 every feeding. With d3 n vitamin every other week
with the Dubia roaches he’ll shoot out his tongue, but super worms are thin and I think the bowl makes it...
I never pushed my chameleon to trust me. Thinking he never would. I just continued feeding, misting and helping him up if he’s hanging from his tail with no way he up, he naturally grew to trust me. So now if I want I can pick him up. I was hoping when I got hI’m he would be Trusting fairly...
When I finally don’t have a cat anymore, I can’t wait to keep his enclosure open I’m front like that. maybe even have it so it has vines leaving the enclosure so he can go out of it if he wants. But I love how you don’t have to worry bout chams falling out of their enclosures.
Lol. My guys aim is kinda shotty... he’s grown accustomed to eating from bowl since I can’t let these things roam, they get lost n find them weeks later. So he’ll miss sometimes then goes, nahh I’ll just go closer and stick my tongue out a little bit to catch them, especially with super worms
My Cham, biting off more then he could chew. No worries through he ate them just fine👍🏻 Been long time since I’ve posted an update. This will be 2.5 years I’ve had him. He’s such a pleasure to care for.
