Its a ficus elastica rubber plant. Its hard to keep in a cham elclosure as they only like to be watered once a week but we seem to have a happy medium.
Some of you guys may remember my build thread. It has been a while since I have posted any pics of either the cham or cage so thought we would take some pics of both today. Let me know what you think:
My blue bar ambilobe is just over a year old now and is coming along brilliantly. He is friendly and always out exploring. If you can remember my build thread the viv has come along great and has really filled out and mantains temps great. On with the pics:
This was him 1 year ago...
I need to change the uv bulb on my viv and also the heat bulb aswell could do with a higher wattage, will a MVB be ok as I was looking at the Exo terra solar glow but it does not state the uva/uvb rating would one of these be ok with a cham...
I spoke to the breeder of my panther last week but becuase I left it so long he couldnt remember the parents of my abilobe as he has so many different breeding pairs, my bad really should of asked at the time but in all the excitement we forgot lol. So come on people lets all play along what...
Im an wondering at what size I should move my cham into his new enclosure. He is currently in an 18x18x18 and is growing very quickly. He is roughly 3-4" body length excluding tail and about 14 weeks. At what size would you say he would need to be moved into his largr enclosure is the issue...
I added another plant today for a bit more foliage at the top of the cage. I couldnt find any pothos but I bought a nice looking spider plant and a hanging basket for it to sit in. From some angles it blocks out the Dracaena but at most angles it doesnt and it gives a bit more cover should he...
Yeah I realise that mate and do take "constructive" critisism well. But comments such as drainage, trying to point out about me varnishing etc dont need to be asked because if the poster looked or read properly in the first place instead of trying to be big headed they wouldn`t need to try and...
I built my own had a wooden back and meshed everything else. Mines sits in my front room. As long as you dont treat your mister like a fire hose you will be fine just always have it pointing to the back and change your angle rather than the misters..
The panther I have at the moment seems to prefer it sparce when I first picked him up he only had a climbing frame with 2 fake plants on it very sparce. I thought there was not much for him to do so filled it out a bit with some fake plants it freaked him out he just clung to the roof wouldnt...
It has had its final varnish do people really think someone would put all this effort in and not actually know what they were doing? As for the trampoline comment what are you trying to incinuate if you look the branches go right down to the floor and its not a hard landing as there is no base...
I have a juvie Blue bar Ambilobe panther growing on at the minute. He is growing very quickly so shouldnt be to long until he is big enough to go in here?
This is the mesh that I used its a fly screen mesh comes rolled up. It was very tricky to keep taught a 2 person job definatly. I cut to size then basically stapled in place pulling it taught then covered the stapels with a wooden bead to stop him catching his self. This is the mesh I used...
It is off the ground it stands 7ft tall. There is no way anything is going to knock over the plant pots trust me. And as for high traffic area it is in my front room in the corner people are in and out all day but I have had my cham since he was 6 weeks old and he has always been in this...
Right I installed the water dripper today changed the bulb over just for a plain white bulb for some extra light and put all the vines and a couple of fake ficus in there. I will be putting the UV and basking bulb on when the Cham is big enough to go in I am currently using them on its grow out...
Yeah I will do I have some about 6 vines in total have the exo terra vines I have 2 small, 2 medium and 2 large. I also have a few fake ficus plants to add to the top just untill the plants grow up.
Yes mate thats right I spent all that time building an enclosure like this and didnt once think about the chams needs. Or did I say I will be installing all the equipment tomorrow.
