I have had my veiled for 10 months and very rarely see him drink. I have a 4 month old female who drinks infront of me. Just pay attention to the urates and the eyes. But as so stated the urates are white so you probably just have a shy drinker
I only use the heat lamp. No substrate and i have lots of plants. I haven't had any problems with heat nor humidity. I also live in florida so depending where you live and the humidity and the temps were you have your cham are ideal you should be good without it. And as kinyonga said the bark...

Def want to make sure if your using a heat mat its not to hot. Your cham needs a cool place to retreat to. If you dont mind my asking why do you use one? As long as your chams enclosure doesn't get below around 60 at night you should be good. There are better methods for humidty problems also...
So i built my enclosure and i added wooden ledges. I then bought some heavy duty hooks from lowes to hang on the wood and used the big zip ties the actual hang the planter boxes
You cant just depend on the uvb. Still needs proper calcium supplements and a good diet. Biggest concern is finding a vet. Changing the uvb if thats and issue they have is not going to change the current situation
I sealed the bottom and used that huge Tupperware. I also left space in between the wood where the plants are so it will drain down. I havent had any issues with it yet. But that was my next plan if that happened ???
I built a 6 ft tall enclosure and i put a bin at the bottom and then put wood panels over top of that so i could put my plants and still be able to remove the bin. I left spacing in the panels so the water will drain right through
