I have this one in my room: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Air-Innovations-2-15-Gal-Ultrasonic-Cool-Mist-Dual-Tank-Digital-Humidifier-with-Aroma-Tray-For-Large-Rooms-Up-To-700-sq-ft-Black/140699244
It is super powerful and you can set it to automatic with the humidity levels you want.
I've set it...
Hello everyone!
I've been watching and learning here for several weeks and really appreciate everyone's help and advice. I have finally finished the first steps of my enclosure. It has been quite an adventure. A little bit ago I acquired an inexpensive DragonStrand hybrid enclosure. I was...
Ok so this brings up one of my questions. How do you accomplish enough misting to keep chameleon happy without overwatering? I've just set up my tank with plants only to get them established, and I don't want to overwater, but I know eventually It will have daily mistings....
wow that is very helpful. I don't know why I hadn't thought of blocking off the first few inches. That might be a perfect solution.
has anyone done a spray foam / drylock background on a dragonstrand? I would love to see what it looks like.
It is actually just the bottom 6 inches and the top that have the screening. which will be perfect as keeping proper humidity is going to be much easier. But I'm going to have to make sure that the bio active part doesn't cover the whole screening 6 inches. or add some other vents.
Hey everyone! Happy (US) Thanksgiving! So I've been gaining knowledge and making plans for some time. The other day I spied a dragonstrand tall hybrid enclosure on FB marketplace for a song. I snapped it up (of course). It looks perfect just needs a good cleaning. I've been working toward a...
@Klyde O'Scope that is really helpful. I appreciate you taking a look. I wanted to ask further about the ventilation. I know the real test is keeping the right humidity and temp with some airflow. How do you know how MUCH airflow? Using soffits as you suggested and passive ventilation will...
Hello friends.
Can you help me consider the positives and negatives of this opportunity? I have been looking for a tv stand / armoire type thing that I can turn into a bioactive enclosure for a male panther. In my facebook marketplace search I came across this enclosure that had been set up for...
That is really helpful thank you! I am thinking in my space a 36 x 18 x at least 36 would work quite well. I'll keep my eyes out for something that would work about that size.
I am looking to convert a TV stand/ armoire / or gun cabinet into an enclosure. Most of the ones that I've looked at are at least 5 foot tall, and 3 foot wide. (larger than the minimum recommendations.) However, some of these are only 18 or 20 inches deep. Would a LESS then recommended depth be...
I have seen the very helpful threads about building a bioactive enclosure including this wonderful one:
https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/intro-to-bio-activity.2429/
My question is on maintaining the bioactivity long term. I've read other bioactive set-ups that eventually maintain...
I'm not 100% sure yet. I LOVE the idea and look of a full bioactive setup. I don't know if I'll do that first and eventually add the cham. OR if I do a plant-only set up and get around to the bio active down the road.
Yep - lighting is a must. I am by no means a green thumb, but I'm trying, and everything I'm reading from the plant guys says they need food too. Any ideas?
Hey everyone! I am still working on getting things together for a setup. One of the things that I have not seen discussed is how you are feeding the plants in your enclosure. Most of my houseplants will eventually go into my guy's home and I want to make sure I am keeping them well (coleus...
