    Help/feedback on a huge enclosure I’m making

Woww!! I have got to say that this enclosure looks like a Calumma parsonii parsonii enclosure not a Furcifer pardalis enclosure. Great Job. I am looking forward to watching this enclosure build. Best Regards Jeremy A. Rich
  3. Motherlode Chameleon

    Phantom leaf eater

I have raised snails before. I have found that Calumma species are fond of making a meal out of snails. The protocol for producing parisite free snail was/is to captive breed wild caught snails, then to remove the baby snails to another parisite free enclosure. Then start to breed those...

    Phantom leaf eater

You are asking what? If this a questions about ventilation on a glass enclosure, I recommend adding screen vents. Air circulation is important. As far as what is biting the leaf, those look to be Chamaeleo calypatratus bites. Best Regards Jeremy A. Rich

Panther Egg Hatching. When to be Concerned.

Assist hatching does work some times. However I recommend to allow the egg to hatch on its own. I also recommend staying away from buying unhatched eggs. I would just go with breeding and producing your own captive bred or captive hatched clutches. Best Regards Jeremy A. Rich

Howdy Congratulations about buying a new Panther Chameleon (Furcifer pardalis). Plus, Welcome to the Chameleon Forums. If you have got pictures of your new Panther Chameleon do not be shy post them. I second the first reply. All the behaviors sound normal. I would watch the screen...

    Hawaii Chameleon Owners (food options)

Close enough. I have found that field plankton can be a great way to end hunger strikes with chameleons. Chameleons in the wild could be said to feed on a variety of insects that are similar (ecosystem niche and convergent evolved) to field plankton elsewhere in the world. However when/if you...

    Hawaii Chameleon Owners (food options)

I would consider collecting field plankton and grasshoppers with a net from a pesticide free field. When pesticide free they can be a good supplement to store bought crickets and superworms. You may want to sort through the field plankton and remove possibly problematic field plankton such...

Outdoor Chameleon in Huntington Beach, California

Coastal Southern California is a great place to keep outdoor enclosures for chameleons. I would only be concerned when the temperatures go below 40-45 Fahrenheit or humidity goes low below 40% (especially for montane species). There is a long history of chameleon keepers in Southern California...

Thanks for the summary of what is going on in Florida with regards to invasive Chamaeleo calyptratus. I am looking for posts about other invasive Chameleon species in Florida. Floridians did not listen to Californians about all the resources it takes to control invasive species about a decade...

Black Panther chameleon males are not interested in females

You need to hydrate and feed those two Furcifer pardalis some before thinking about breeding. The male looks to be Nosy Faly or Nosy Be local. Best Regards Jeremy A. Rich
