I'm using the Reptisun 5.0 and his branches are at least 10 inches below any light. The tall vertical branches are the supports attached to his Dragon Strand ledges. They are configured exactly as the Chameleon Academy recommends. I'm confident my enclosure is safe and enjoyable for my boy :)
His basking branch is behind him. Those two vertical sticks are too high for him to bask under. His temp under his basking branch reaches 84-85 degrees. He likes to perch on the vertical branches to get as high as he can.

Will do. No tv or computer screen visible to him. He does seem pretty normal and healthy. (I took him to a vet for a post-adoption check-up). He's currently making his post-meal rounds through his enclosure. Thanks! 🥰
That's what I thought. But he's just perched on his stick in his enclosure. Nothing's changed or different. Nothing's going on around him. I've looked all around to see if he can see himself in a reflection or anything. Nothing. Could he just be in a mood or demonstrating his 'chameleon-ism'...
I find my guy like this every now and then. I'm a newer chameleon keeper and I'm not sure if this posture is normal. He's seemingly chilling but his throat is puffed out and his arm is lifted. I've read that this is seen when they're defensive. But, he's in his enclosure all alone with no...
I was afraid of that. It's so hard to know how much to feed him since technically he's the size of a juvenile. He gobbles up anything I put in front of him. Currently, I'm feeding him daily - 2 small/med silkworms and 4 or 5 small Discoids. I don't want to overfeed him but he has a lot of making...
Hi everyone!
Karma has settled in and is growing! I rescued him June 15th and he weighted 34 grams. Today he weighed in at 48 grams! I was told that his previous owner got him last August, so he's got to be at least a year old. My question is, can I expect him to catch up to an average size or...
Definitely! We sat on a chair outside; he was on my arm. I wouldn't leave him out of my sight. He was just so excited by the breeze and sunshine. I'd love to give him a change of pace from his enclosure, I just don't want it to turn into a case where he's constantly fretting about wanting to be...
Great! I'm still new to chameleon keeping. I'm impressed with how smart they are! He knows his food dish and knows that when I come to his cage to meet me at the door for a silkworm. Well, maybe he's just more food-motivated than smart 😂
Hi guys!
I took Karma outside for about 5 minutes this afternoon and he LOVED it. I brought him back inside to his enclosure and he was more active than I've ever seen him. I have a smaller 30x30x16 enclosure with live plants inside that I'd love to let him hang out in, but I'm worried he won't...
I hope it helps. My drill didn't go through easily, either. Just using the pointy screw with force worked best. The drill did help mark the spot, though.
I just rescued one, too. They do not like being held - it's not just your chameleon. If you just got him, try to leave him alone for a while. He really needs time to decompress and get used to his new surroundings.
I really recommend checking out some helpful YouTube videos. I found Neptune...
Do you have access to a drill? You can drill pilot holes first. I just installed mine but did it while putting together my ReptiBreeze. It really helps to tape the ledges in place first. I'm a bit of a dork and made a YouTube video of me putting it together, if you want to check it out. You can...
