I acquired a female Chamaeleo africanus from a rare import of this species from Reptile Pets Direct in 2010. I only got one remaining female not a male/female pair. This species looks similar and is similar to Chamaeleon calypatratus as that they are in the same genus. However as far as husbandry I found this species is much more skittish than their larger relative. I found this species is not tolerant to excesses of too much water and more selective of food items than Chamaeleo calypatratus. My WC gravid female laid one clutch of eggs during shipping that were no good.

Breeding Notes
I got one WC clutch from a my female Chamaeleo africanus. The eggs molded over since they were laid inside the shipping bag when she was delivered to me.
