I acquired Spike from Sunland Breeders at a reptile convention in Sacramento, California September, 2016. Spike was named after his huge dorsal crest obviously. Spike lived great inside my reptile room. I housed him in a LLL 2x2x4 screen enclosure. This Western Madagascar chameleon would rarely drink for me. Spike reminded me to keeping Furcifer oustaleti and Furcifer verrucosus with regards to drinking seldom. He had a great appetite. He ate regularly house crickets, house flies, silk and horn worms occasionally, and always had a fondness for super worms. Spikes health deteriorated suddenly without warning and died before his time to shine outside in the California summer at about March of 2017. I think this species would acclimate well to large well planted outdoor enclosures in the hot central California summers or other arid state hot summers. Best Regards
