I was wandering if i should buy a fruit fly culture to add more variety to my chameleons diet. Are fruit flies a good feeder?

Hey....so I have been looking for some articles about the Health of fly cultures and the signs of an unhealthy culture. I have found a few but it seems the information is limited to mold (green/blue being normal), mites, and death black dust. I can't imagine those are the only things I need to...
