So, I'd planned on getting a chameleon sometime before the winter happened, but I'm glad I've postponed.
My girlfriend and I recently moved into a nice new apartment which includes heat in the rent. We can get it nice and warm in here, but the problem is that it's forced air heat and it...
So, it has been a good few months since I've been active on here and it has been a dry... DRY winter here in northern Virginia.
Osiris, my nearly year-old chameleon has been in a slow sectioned shed for about a month now, but having issue with the pads of his feet.
I've made sure that his...
Ok so I don't know where the hell they came from, but I just noticed small black specks on a piece of bamboo in my Cham enclosure. There were 5 of them and I don't know where they're from or how they got there. I do have a humidifier on almost 24/7 going through the side mesh of reptarium that...

Hello everyone, quick question: let's say a cage size is 2' x 2' x 4' or something, it doesn't matter really. Does anyone have hygrometers at multiple levels of their cage and get different reading or does humidity tend to be the same throughout the cage, from top to bottom?
These waterfalls are one of the coolest cage accessories to come out on the market! The LED lights are cool and won't burn your reptile, but light up the waterfall for a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing way to observe your pets.
The waterfall helps keep humidity up in your cages, making...
Hello Everyone,
Today we noticed that the bottom of Mowgli's tail is cracking and almost looks as if it is chapped. The cracking seems pretty severe. It doesn't look like there are any sores from it or anything, but there's some pretty significant fissures. He's sleeping right now and his tail...

Hey guys,
I have heard that a screen cage is better for cool, humid chameleons.
How is this so? as the humidity would leave the cage easily.
Also, the cham would feel every draft of air that goes by.
can anyone tell me how they use a screen cage to house a humid, cool type of cham...
I just got a Vicks filter free humidifier yesterday and have now read reviews dubbing it a weak 1 star, and the reason largely being that it tends to grow mold rather easily. That's a big NO! So I have read reviews for the Honeywell (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0002UXDRA/ref=aw_cr_item_title)...
Hi, I was wondering what would be a good setting for my mistking misting system for my baby panthers, in their 16X16X20 cages. There is 1 nozzle in each cage. dont worry about how it affects my other cages as per 3 square feet of cage i have 1 nozzle. anyway right now i have it set at 45 seconds...
I have a one to two month old female Veiled Chameleon (im unsure because the petstore didnt know how old she was) and I keep her humidity in her cage around 40, is this too low? and if so what should it be at?

from what i've gathered here, my veiled cham eggs should be kept at roughly 68-74 degrees and at 95%+ humidity, but when i ran a search about mold problems, most of the advice is to dry them out. can anyone clarify this for me?
Her 1st clutch and she layed 65 eggs??? Whew! Most look pretty healthy to me, but I am not an expert by any means. Most are bright white, a few with a dingy yellowish color but no dents.
So do they look healthy to you?
When will I be able tell if they are fertile by seeing veins when...
I am working on getting one and does any one know if a drop just down from 85 degrees down to 80 is to hot. It would be like this for at least 2 months a year. And does anyone know how to keep humidity in a room. I wont get it this summer but for next year is it OK or should i get a cheap a/c...
Hey everyone!
I've had my new Veiled Chameleon for a few days now, and I'm having problems keeping the humidity up. I mist like every hour/hour and a half to keep it up, but it never seems to go past 50. I am going to add in a sac of ice cubes that will drip into a bowl, and I'm debating a...
