Im not sure which size cage to get first. I am new to the hobby so now is the perfect time to get a large a cage as I can for my future chameleon to grow to full potential and be happy. I have researched a bit and the largest zoomed cage i can get is 24x24x48. Should I just get the larger one so I dont have to upgrade down the line or do I need a smaller one first then upgrade later?

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum & hobby! The size of your 1st enclosure will depend on the type and age of the chameleon you are getting. If you are getting a pre 5month panther or veiled then you need smaller than 2x2x4 to start with.

If a veiled or panther you could start with a 24lx12wx24h or 24lx16wx30h and then as they get bigger upgrade to their adult enclosure.

You could get the bigger enclosure and partition it off with a layer of mesh about half way down. Then when your chameleon gets bigger, you just have to remove the mesh partition and redecorate :)
