1st time shedding

so i woke up today and seen some what i thought was dry skin
but than once i actually thought for a second i realized he was shedding
how often do chameleons shed im just trying to figure out how old he is exactly.

Young chameleons shed every month. Around 6-7 months they start to slow down a little (once every 1.5-2 months) and it continues to get even farther apart after. As they age, sometimes they start to shed in sections, like a tail one week and the head the next and so on.
