i have experience with adult panthers but never delt with anything under 8 months old so im going to be getting some three month old panthers what size cage is good to start them with. is their care the same as the adults just maybe more misting.

For anything under 5 or 6 months I'd say an 18x18x36 inch and the 2'x2'x4' cage for anything older. Or you could raise the bottom like mentioned above.

i personally like to use the 2x2x4 to begin with but others say u risk them falling but this wont really happen if u give him the right size vines and a nice and bushy plant it also saves u the money on having to buy another cage when they grow out of the small cage.

Once a panther chameleon is 4" total length, it can range its entire cage, whether 4' tall, 6' tall, or 8' tall.

Secondly, the care info here on juvenile panther chameleons is incorrect. Juveniles should be provided the same basking range temps as adults. They should also have the same temperature gradients available. Think Mother Nature.

i would look for a small used cage or just buy it then sale it here then go up to a larger cage. When I first got mine he liked to hide often and even in a 18x36 he had a hard time finding his food and i had to hand feed him.

But at 4 months its way to small for him. Only reason why i say that is he is EXTREMELY active a mobile. He likes to roam allot and move around. So I am in the process of doing a 46Hx50Wx30D custom cage which i cant wait to get him into.

If your handy build one out of cabinet. I bought mine for 35$ refinished it and put a custom back ground and still in the process but still sitting less then 100$ invested and its all furniture quality.
