3 month old Veiled. What to feed...

So I will be receiving my first chameleon today from FLChams. I am not sure how big the cham will be but it is between 2-3 months old. I assume pinhead crickets would be good to feed but are there any other feeders that would be good? I have small dubia roaches on order currently but would like to see if there are other feeders I could get at a local pet shop.

Ive read that mealworms are not good and can cause impactions but superworms are ok? I thought superworms were just larger mealworms lol

I agree With Jax, but pinhead crickets sound great, you shouldnt feed them anything thats bigger then there mouth i think, or they just wont eat it, good luck!

Ive read to feed items that are no larger than the space between their eyes which makes sense. I guess my main question is why superworms are safe for chams while mealworms can cause impactions? I assume the superworms have a softer exoskeleton?

NEVER feed mealworms. super worms are not a good staple feeder, and should only be given as a treat

Ok cool deal. I was curious about the superworms since I have quite a bit on hand for my tarantulas. Ill stick to crickets until my dubia order arrives. Hopefully my chameleon will eat the dubia and not be picky like some I have read about refusing the roaches.

Silkworms make great feeders but they are hard to get unless you raise them from eggs. They aren't hard to raise but it's another daily chore.

At least for me, silkies have been hard to keep alive. maybe its a humidity issue, or a contamination issue. I've read that once you touch them they get infected because they have no immune system. Just wanted to vent about silkworms.

I never touch mine except with tools that have been rinsed with alcohol and air dried. It's probably over kill but it's working. This thread was a huge help.
