3 yr old Veiled chameleon

I recently acquired a 3 yr old male chameleon, from his second home, his first home was not a good environment for him, the children in the house weren't very nice to him, tapping on his enclosure, poking at him, to the point where he puffs up, then makes himself very skinny. His second home had small children also, he was placed in their playroom where the 2 yr old was constantly tapping on his glass, being rambunctious around the enclosure, again making him off up, then get skinny. When we try to take him out to try and socialize with him, he bites and whips his tail around furiously. Is there any chance of taking him and making him know he is safe and will be taken care of? Or will he just be forever a beautiful creature to look at through the glass?

Probably he will only be a visual hobby. However, you can look in the blog section of this site and there's specifically one about hand feeding and trust building, and you can get some good info from there.

Be extremely patient and don’t try to force anything. My male was also a rescue from a similar situation. He has always been extremely shy and was aggressive at first. It’s been a couple months and now he comes out and basks in front of me and will eat in front of me. He also let me take him outside the other day for some sun. I never thought any of this would be possible two months ago.

That's amazing!!! I have all the patience in the world for him, I just hope he comes around

They also need specific vitamins to thrive or you'll end up with an unhealthy and or sick Chameleon, what kind of vitamins does he get?
