I have a 5-month-old veiled. My husband and I both have to go to a 4 day trip soon and are trying to think what to do with our chameleon and how to help him to find food, water and all that he needs meanwhile.
We'll be leaving in a thursday morning. We'll fill the dripper, mist thorougly, put a large bowl of salad in the usual place and inside it a smaller container with insects. If we wont be leaving too early, we'll handfeed a couple. The bugs can't roam free in the enclosure, since it's huge and it has big enough holes for them to easily escape.
Friday evening my sister who has no experience with reptiles will come to mist, fill the dripper, change the salad and put some more insects to the bowl. Same on saturday.
Late Sunday evening we will return. Will our little guy still be ok? How can we further try to make his long weekend easier? I havent ever seen him drink from the dripper, and of course I'm quite worried that one misting per day wont be enough.
If my concience wont leave me alone I wont be leaving home at all, but I'm still hopeful that there are good ways to do this.
