My enclosure is 24x24x48...screen. The fixture with be on the outside. Should I get the 12% bulb since the screen filters some of the UVB, or is 6% still plenty?

There is plenty of shade for the cham to hide if need be.

Oh, it's for a veiled btw.

Thanks.

Either is O.K. for an adult. I'd stick with the 6% for a sub adult. I use a 6% with my veiled, but may switch to a 12% next time I need to change it out.

hi there

Mesh tops will cut out at best 30-40% of light and uv, but usually a lot worse.

imo i would suggest 6% if inside and 12% outside with a reflector of course.also the 12% will provide a high index over the targeted area.

i believe that 6.5k is the same as 6500k :)

Which would make sense...lol...but I was confised because the only place I see it listed as 6.5k is on the lightyourreptiles site. But they also have these bulbs called Plant Pro Bulbs, so I wasn't sure.

not sure why that is.
i guess some prefer to abbreviate it and some dont :)

also from what i have heard the growth from using the plant pro bulbs is very rapid.

That's perfect. The 12% for UVB, and the 6500K for your plants. (The plant pro is a different type.) The screen top will not filter out much from these high output bulbs, and with the reflector that those fixtures have you will be amazed at how bright and amazing everything looks!

Excellent. Can't wait...the time is almost here. :D

I like the Q regarding 6% AND 12%. I am stepping away from the CFL's that were given to me because make me worried for my veiled's safety. His enclosure is a 42"t 36"w 20"d.

Considering the fact that he is a veiled from Saudi Arabia/Yemen and the lush jungle conditions do not exist in this habitat then wouldn't the 12% unfiltered (no mesh) with reflector be PERFECT regardless of age. Remembering, of course, to provide ample shade and relief. ????????

You guys are making me get the itch for Arcadia bulbs... Stanley's enclosure could stand to be brighter...
